Up in the attic of Treadwell Hall is the R.0.T.C. indoor rifle range. SEE THE 1,oNG BUILDING to your right! lVell, that's Treadwell Hall, built in 1921. It was Called the Blain Building until 19-L3 when Bliss Esther Fay Shover, one of the original eight Tech teachers. proposed that it be rededi- cated in memory of Lieutenant-Colonel Treadwell. the iirst commandant. Trophy cases in the entrance halls at either end of the building are iilled to overflowing with cups and plaques our sports teams have won in athletic events. Beyond Treadwell is theBa1-11. completed in 1869. Soldiers called it the Ucorrallfi Yes, it really was used as a stable. Horse stalls were in the base- ment. The commandant's carriage was kept on the first floor. In 1916 the Barn Was remodeled for classrooms. lllusic and agriculture classes are held there now. LIBRARY STAFF Cleft to rightlz Mary Louise Mann, head librarian, Dorothy Busby, Marjorie Sehoeh, Letha Coakley. Not connected with the school, but another part of this busy community, is the State Re- habilitation office, where counselors help disabled citizens find suitable occupations. Sh-h-h, we're nearing the library. It's on the second floor. Quiet rules have been established for students and faculty who wish to study and concentrate. Altogether we have about fifteen thousand books and we subscribe to more than one llLlI1Cl1'CCl magazines. On the south side is a lllCIll01'l2ll bookshelf which contains books that have been presented in IIIQIII- ory of boys who made the supreme sacrifice, faculty and students, and relatives. Each week the librarians ar1'ange new bulletin board dis- plays and other exhibits that fit certain occasions.
