Speaks PERHAPS there never was a time when hoys and girls needed to thinli seriously more than at present. By serious thinking l mean that lcind which will lceep you mentally alert, will stimulate you to the degree that you will earnestly desire to use all the talents and ahilities you possess to reach your maximum growth. To achieve such an end there are a few especially impor- tant essentials to he considered. Today, your country wants and needs your very hest. Therefore, talce advantage of the many and varied opportunities offered in your school. Prepare yourself to do some one thing well-something that will luring positive and def- inite results. Personal ohligations demand that every one of you lieeps physically strong hy healthful living. Develop hoth your minds and your loodies in order to cope most efficiently with the sacrifices that seem just ahead. You need to understand your government, to lcnow its under- lying principles, to recognize that the privileges it offers cannot he duplicated hy any other form ol: government. By considering these essentials you can learn to he good citizens here on the campus, and hence in your community. With the proper development of these three qualities, a good character is sure to follow for Honly what you have wrought into your character during life can you talce away with you. To you, the student body, then, l would say: focus your attention on those worthwhile factors which contribute most to your all-round development as an individual.
