Students CI-IEREE MELLOW, KARIN PETTENBURGER, BERNIE KLUEVER Dear Arrowhead Friends, Twelve months ago seemed so long when I first arrived, but now I can't believe a year can pass so quickly. I find it hard to put in words the kindness and warmth you have shown me this year. I remember how lonely and afraid I felt on my first day but I'll never forget how friendly everybody was to the "kid from down under, who talks with a funny accent. " This year has been valuable in so many Ways--a year of "real" living, where I learned to appreciate life, faced challenges with perseverence, matured and gained self-awareness. Thanks to all those who shared and understood my moments--times of accomplishment and failure, laughs and tears, joys and sadness, hopes and desires. I learned that someone-else's ways may be different from yours without being better or worse, just different. And after traveling half way around the world I discovered people are the same deep down, and everyone should be considered as equal human beings. Special thanks to such a dedicated and valuable faculty who brought such happiness to my school days. I've made so many meaningful relationships--I'll never forget you. I'm proud to have been at Arrowhead amongst such beautiful people. Best of luck for the future. Thanks for so much, Cheree. Dear Friends, When I came down here in February I thought the flood of new faces would never end. I didn't get to know names of many friends until I had already known them for about two months. Quite frequently that caused some odd situations, but now that it is all over it will only stay a fun memory for the rest of my life. You came and said hello to me, you helped and encouraged me to become one of yours. I'll always be grateful for that. This half year in Arrowhead has given me so much that I can hardly express it. I've come close and get to know your ways and your lifestyles, ways that I had never thought lwould be able to accept or even adopt. I am very sad I had only these 5 months together with you and as the time flys past me, the impact of this year on my person and my future becomes more important and real every day. I am so happy to have shared this time with you and am proud of your friendship. I'll never forget you. Thanks. Karin Dear Friends, 1 Why? Why not? I guess that is the statement that best describes this year that I could spend with you. I often tried to be opposite and I like to discuss. In this moment I am no different then anybody else, I have to give a big and dear "thank you" to all of you. Everybody in this school-helped me to get acquainted, to make friends and to have a super year. The students sat down and we shared our ideas or we were on the soccer field or somewhere else. The leaders were exceptionally fantastic, and I really had a great time. This .whole yeantaught me many different things and I can only hope that I could be of some benefit for you, too. I think everything worked out fine, just like on a schedule, i. e. activities, school-spirit and friendships were fantastic and unforgetable. Basically it probably is true that we are not going to meet again, but who says it is totally impossible? I certain- ly would enjoy a reunion with all of you and even without that, I'm never going to forget you, you are "number one" in everything. It islawfully hard to express feelings on a piece of paper, but I have tried to do it. I also hope that I showed you my feelings, when we were together and had a great time. To tears of love and sadness that I have to leave, your friend, Bernie See you, take it easy and have a nice time.
