SAILOR MAIDS Frances Marie tBernadine Dennisi is celebrating her 18th birthday by a cruising party on her new yacht. lfdward Dover t'Keith Dewhirstl a playmate sweetheart whom she has not seen for eight years, is to pilot the new yacht on its first voyage across the bay. When he arrives. he is mistaken for the absent caterer. Because of his interest in Jeanette tMildred Bailey! another guest. and his lack of yachting ability he does not reveal his true identity. 'David Kern fClark Lewisj a messenger from the caterer, in turn is mis- taken for Edward. Before he can explain. Edward prevails on him to assume his name and sail the yacht. At first he objects. then his interest in Frances Marie helps him to forget his true self. Gerald Kennedy t0wen Messersmithl also a member of the party. is madly in lore with Frances Marie. He has proposed nine times but has been rejected. to his regret. Olga llflsie Stupplebeent the Sewdish house keeper. has a lot of comical trouble with lfdward. since he is also short on caterer ability. Captain Dover tLeo Hartman I. l'idward's father. spends much of his time with his old friend Cy rus 'l'empleton t,l.amoiu Knowltonl, Frances Marie's father. The climax cutiies when David learns that Frances lVlarie's engagement to lfdwurd Dover is soon to be announced. The true identity of both is revealed and Frances Marie and her friends are shocked at the discovery. After much explaining the young men clear themselves and win the girls with lather's blessings.
