The class chose familiar secular Christmas songs for the groups to sing. Members of the class are Kevin Knowles. Gary Boyd, Brent Dearing, Sally Barnett. Brenda Peacock, and Donna Satterwhite.

On Sunday September 16. 4 senior girls walked into the school building with make-up bags. 4 or 5 changes of clothes. 4 or 5 pairs of shoes, accompanists, accessories for their talent events, and most important — their mothers. The four contestants were Stacy Folks. Jeri Martin. Gena Woods, and Paula Cadwell. The contestants first had to be individually interviewed and then went to a luncheon with the judges and former Miss Arnetts. The luncheon helped the girls get their jitters out and helped the judges become more acquainted with the girls. The entertainers for the pageant were Cynthia Smith. '83 Miss Arnett, and Shane Hicks. '84 Miss Arnett. The contestants performed so well in each area that it was very hard for the judges to decide who would hold the new Miss Arnett title. For the finals the contestants came out on stage together. Gene Woods was announced first runner-up and Paula Cadwell was crowned the new 1984-85 Miss Arnett. The escorts were Casey Branstetter. Joe Wayland. Eddie Suthers. and Billy Bryant. Casey Branstetter was awarded Mr. Arnett. Gena Woods Miss Arnett Mr. and Miss Arnett: Casey Branstetter.
