Although a small class, it has been outstanding in all Academy activities. Two of its members, Captain Simpson and Sgt. Sprankle, were in the cast of Allison's Lad , the Academy play that won honors in the County and State tournaments. Captain Simpson, president of the class, and a company commander, has been an inspiration to his classmates throughout the year. The class was well represented on the Adjutant staff, The Quill and Scroll, the Rifle Team and the Literary Society. Cadets Miller and Stumbo have been prominent members of the cadet band and orchestra, and have done much toward the success of these popular organizations. Mrs. Atkinson, class adviser, is held in high esteem by the members of the class. Every Junior will remember Mrs. Atkinson for her kindly smile, enduring patience and ability in dramatic production. Cadets Sprankle, Gage and Miller, as class officers, are to be commended for their loyal service during the past year. 'WWI I Eff .css X gil Uma s1f'.'.'.'.' if 5Fl'Wl fl

C 4 X, THE FRESHMAN CLASS The Freshman class, although not the largest in the Academy, has had an abundance of real school spirit. Many parties and social functions have been enjoyed by the first year men. On the evenings of No- vember fifteenth and May ninth, the class was delightfully entertained at supper parties by Captain and Mrs. Keveren at their St. Malo Beach home. The birthdays of Cadet Maxson and Cadet Fuentevilla were celebrated in traditional Freshman style. Many beautiful presents were given to the lucky cadets. The class has, in the main, made an excellent scholastic record and the members are determined to keep their record throughout their Sophomore year. Captain Keveren, as faculty adviser, has been alert to the needs of the class, and with his help the first mile has been a happy trek. Cadet Davis J. has been an efficient Class President, while Cadets Schillinburg and Schneider have served with distinction in the offices of Vice-President and Class Reporter. 22
