COMMISSIONED CDFFICERS I-IE FOLLOWING is the creed by which the commissioned officers of this institution are governed: I, in the presence of my senior officers and fellow Cadets, do hereby accept from the authorities of the San Diego Army and Navy Academy this commission, and do hereby pledge my word of honor to uphold and carry out the rules and regulations of this Academy, the ones which now are and the ones which may hereafter be passed during my tenure of ofhce, and to foster and carry out the ideals and traditions of the Academy in developing in the student body from year to year a higher sense of honor and integrity, that I will not use my oflice, or the authority vested in me, for my own personal gain and to the detriment of any other cadet in the Academyg that I will, by example, lead the cadets under my command rather than drive them, and I will practice the Golden Rule in all my dealings with the Faculty and Cadets.
