The combined Junior-Senior band, under the direction of Mr. Philip Lowry, played a number of unique and varied selections. The AHS choir, directed by Mrs. Henry Wold, then further entertained the audience by singing a variety of American folk tunes, Negro spirituals, and novelty tunes. The program was high- lighted by the appearance of several newly formed groups: Madrigal Choir, Girls' Sextet, Girls' Quartet, Girls' Chorus, and Boys' Quartet. The highlight of the Music Department's success- ful year was the Christmas Concert, presented in late December. The combined Junior-Senior band played a combination of Christmas fantasies, which delighted and amused the audience. Following a more serious tone, the choir sang a series of Christ- mas hymns. This year two people, Betty Pearson and Gerry Albin, were selected to represent AHS at the All- Northwest Choir in Spokane. The experiences they gained there will certainly benefit them throughout their lives. Betty Pearson, Accompanist Girls' Quartet Sandy Aylesworth, Lois Aylesworth, Roberta Brendemuhl, Judy Brendemuhl. Each time they take part in one of the offered sports, they re- ceive a given amount of points. Besides the regular school sports, a girl can receive points for many other minor sports. In addition to their stripes, a girl may also earn a pin and a trophy. The girls also participate in play-days with the surrounding schools. 64 Lettermen The Lettermen's Club participates in many worthwhile projects. Two members are chosen to be hall monitors. The club has helped keep the school grounds clean by placing trash cans in the front and back of the building. This club helps the football players by paying part of their insurance costs and it gives a small amount of money to each basketball player when he goes to the State Tournament. This year the club sold ice cream bars at the basketball games and Eagle sweatshirts to students in order to raise money for their various activities. LETTERMEN: L. to R___FRONT ROW: T. Tapley, L.
