Mimi Kent, a flighty widow who dreams of wealth, has just moved into her new ranch-type home with her son, Jarel, and her daughter, Peggy. Poor Mimi has spent practically all ber late husband's life insurance, building her new home. Unfortunately, her money ran out before she could furnish it properly. Mimi gets on her chi1dren's nerves because she is forever quoting Opal Bean, a girlhood chum with whom she has kept up a correspondence but hasn't seen in twenty years. Now Mimi is frightfully jealous of Opal because she married a wealthy Chicago banker and is forever bragging about her wonderful financial success. What Mimi doesn't know is that the Beans are just as poor as she. When Mimi learns that Opal and her family are coming for avisit she becomes frantic, and with the help of her neighbor's possessions, she tries to impress the Bean family. Everything seems to be sailing along fairly smooth when to Mimi's horrified surprise, in pops a poor relative, old Uncle Podger from the Ozarks. ln his bluff, hearty way he spills some family truths to the Beans about the Kent's background. From this point on, through lovers' quarrels, fainting, and tears of humilation, they manage to get into many hilarious complications that keep the audience laughing. Bob Cooley . . . . . He's dreamed of peddling through town, getting fond gazes from the girls, and boastfully shouting, "Look, no hands!" But he still can't persuade Mama and Papa to jar down -- to get him one. So, when Pop is called away for a week-long business trip, Mom is persuaded to go with him for sort of a second honymoon, and the house is left in charge of sister Connie and sisterBettyLou, Wil- bur gets his idea. He'll make his own money and buy his own bicycle. He'll open up a boarding house right here. Wilbur knows there's a frightful housing shortage, he knows people need places to sleep, and he knows for a whole week he can really clean up and just be rolling in bicycles. So into the paper goes the ad, and that night the whole Maxwell house is crawling with people. First comes Lucy Burns, asortofwalking encyclopedia, then Mrs. Mott, who never says a word all through the play, just comes in, sits down, gets up, and walks out. Then come Ninety- Volt Jones, a beat-up pug, and his wrestling wife, Ruby, they're followed by Mr. Potter, an in- surance salesmang and next come Limpy McGuire and his wife, Nora. Now every room in the house is full, Wilbur's doing a bang-up business, and then it happens.Mama and Papa Maxwell, at two o'clock of the next morning, come dragging home--Papa forgot his brief case. From there on out, it's one mess after another. Papa has an important business conference the next morning, but he has to sleep on the floor, he can't get in to shave, and he can't even read his own paper. Things are going 'round and 'round. Finally, it's discovered somebody in the house is a bank robber, and poor Papa is mistakenly carted off to the clink. What a mess now! And before it's all finally straightened out and Wilbur has his bicycle. Wilbur Maxwell Hercules Nelson . . . . Mrs. Maxwell Mr. Maxwell . . Mrs. Mott . . Aunt Mary .... Time flies more swiftly for some than for others. The year is 1973, fifteen years after the graduation ofthe class of1958 from Arlington High School. Let's look and see how fate has treated each of the fifteen members of the class. As we focus our super sonic T. V. set we shall see the accomplishments of the class. Now the picture is be- coming sharper and I can tell we are in New York at the Metro-Politan Opera House and I hear the voice of our class President, Lawrence Parks singing the new opera "Scratch" by Ivanaw- ful Itch, Larry is also famous for his many flower and rock gardens. The camera has now turned to a dense jungle and I see Phil Hester wading through a swamp with a large box on his head. Phil became very despondent over a false love affair and left the U.S.A. He is now selling refrigerators to the tribes in South Africa. The camera has now switched to another part of the jungle and we now see the world famous "Long Tall Hunter" Florence Parks. When we asked her what she was hunting, she replied "Long Tall Men" of course." The scene has completely changed now and the camera is down under the sea and we now can see a big -- no it's not what we thought, its Bonnie Rucker the worlds renown deep sea diver. I believe she has a word for us. "Blubg blub." Thank you for that wonderful message Bonnie. Now the camera takes us to gay exotic Mexico and the largest Bull Fighting Ring in the world. As the matadore enters, the crowd goes wild. It's Bill .Tosea" Smith, world's leading play boy and bull fighter. Bill says he likes bull fighting because it keeps his mind off his money and girls. As time goes by the camera starts to move faster and we are now in Bent Fork, Tennessee for the 1973 Olympic Game where Rose Henby is trying for the 20 foot mark. The sound of exotic music reaches our ears, and we see beautiful girls. Why these are the 43 wives of Prince Ali Keith Fansler of South Arabia. I guess Keith decided that grass was green- er on the other side of the fence. And now we move to North Arabia where 40,000 have gath- ered to watch the great bubble dancer Phyllis Logan. Don't go near a pin Phyllis. The building that is on our screen now is rolling in steam. Joy Irvine has a new reducing plan called "Reducing with Joy." It's been said that people entering this building rich, fat, flabby and forty leave broke, chubby and feeling like 70. A sound believer in .Toy's program is Ethel Vantyle who is just about to be crowned Miss America of Europe. Nice going Ethel. As the camera moves on we can see that success has really hit Steve Wooldridge for he is the president of his own nation-wide company, The Dog Catchers of America. Steve says, "If it has four legs and a tail, we'1l bring it in." A terrific roar is heard as the camera turns to a hugh arena where a small blonde haired girl is tossing her opponent around with the greatest of ease. As the bell rings .Tanet "The Mauler" Heath is crowned Worlds Ladies Wrestling Champ. Now we are in New York where the slim and graceful JoAnn Binder is giving her balleria act. Oops Poor .ToAnn didn't see the edge of the stage. Fifteen million Indians in India are watching Donna Joyner charm a 93 foot cobra. We now see the entrance of the Big Top. As the camera leads in side, we can see Joyce Mann swing- ing from bar to bar on the trapeze. We also understand she just wrote a new song entitled "Don't Let Go." The picture is dimming and slowly fading away. We can see that the class has made the most out of their time and opportunities. We hope that they will continue to be leaders and pur- suers of tomorrow.
