So, Hip Hooray, let's give a shout
For our class President.

days,
Clark Goforth, renowned class wit.
In artistic ability we're free from
want,
We've the best in all the landg
Our pictures
grow gaunt
and paintings never
When we've Kathleen Williams on
hand.
When we've grown old and sick and
thin
And we're feeling bad or worse,
It's time to
call that someone in--
You know, Bonnie Mitchell, the
IILIPSS Q
Civilized people we all do try
To be, but lingering with us still

Ragtime Cowboy Bill.
We've a sports announcer, no doubt,
Marvin Beckner is the guyg

good one indeed,
style that she possesses

Business suits some people to a "T"
Some prefer another lifeg
Mary Ritter says confidentially
She'd rather be a housewife.

And we're getting slightly frantlcg
Just
Jr.
ask the guy who is sure to know
Newhouse, the class mechanic.
The farmers in our class you see
Are fine without any doubt.
We'll be represented in the harvest
By Earl Noble and Glenn Stout.
To help the others with country toil
Robert Beckner comes to assist,
lt's not for him to turn the soil--
He's our dairy specialist.
Mary Louise's favorite dream
Concerns Carnegie Hall and Music
with weight,
But, at the risk of appearing mean,
We'll guess office work will be
her fate.
Some business office will be the
place
Where our secretary will probably

And we predict, she'll find success
Wanda Newhouse, the mighty mite.
John Reynolds long will be remembered
As an athlete who grew too slowg
But we predict, as a basketball pro,
Our John will steal the show.
Now Jackie Love is our ladies man,
And we're sure he will go far,
Why, we won't be a bit surprised
If he winds up a Hollywood star.
Now Josephine says she will be a
housewife,
And it certainly looks that way
to me,
She says it's a fine way to spend
your life
And that, as everyone knows, could
be.
So we leave the halls of A.F.S.
But just on one condition-- HA
That all the classes after us
" Carry on our fine tradition

We set out for a twelve-year educational trip in Arlington
School in September, 1938, with Miss Bernice McMichael as our
Admiral. On the first stop of our voyage, we had a very good
time and also learned many things that would make us more sea-
worthy travelers.
Through the next five years we touched port with Mrs. Mil-
dred Shockency, Mrs. Mary Alsman, and Mrs. Frances Whitinger,
adding new members to our crew and also losing some.
Much to everyone's delight, we finally landed on the isle
of Junior High School and we felt very grown up. Mrs. Winslow
taught most of the classes in these two grades with the help of
Mr. Pearl and others.
In September, l9h6, our crew was set for High School. The
Seniors thought it time to welcome us to the land of Freshman,
and so we were initiated. We chose crew officers for the first
time: Bonnie Mitchell, President, Marvin C. Beckner, Vice-
Presidentg Wanda Newhouse, Secretaryg and Mary Lucille Ritter,
Treasurer. Mr. Potts was aboard ship to represent the faculty.
As Sophmores we ventured forth once more on the sea of
knowledge. We got our class rings that year and established a
class treasury. The class officers this year were: Jackie Love,
Presidentg Wanda Newhouse, Vice-Presidentg Mary Lucille Ritter,
Secretaryg and Mary Louise Hutchinson, Treasurer. Our captain
was Mrs. Hutchinson.
Now we were entering the harbor of our Junior year and we
had a very good time in this port. In October, we presented our
play nThe Boarding House Reachn, with Mr. Rose in the curtains.
We cleared enough on this to start our treasury rolling to last
us the rest of the journey. We had a little excitement and a
financial loss when some thieves stole the safe in the school
building. The class officers this year were: Billie Mitchell,
President, Junior Newhouse, Vice-Presidentg Jackie Love, Secre-
taryg and Mary Lucille Ritter, Treasurer.
The final port came into sight as our journey was nearing
its end. Ten of our first crew was still on board. Our voyage
had gone rather well considering the waves and storms along the
route, but now we were going to enjoy it to the utmost, as this
would be the last year we would all spend together. The class
officers in our Senior year were: Billie Mitchell, President,
Clark Goforth, Vice-Presidentg Jayne Ann Martin, Secretary,
and Mary Lucille Ritter, Treasurer. Mr. Rose was still aboard
for the second straight year. A class trip took us to New York
Washington, and other points of interest. Finally ends the most
interesting trip in our life and one that we are certain never
to forget.
Our voyage has ended. We have experienced twelve years of
work and play, laughter and tears. We carry with us into the
future pleasant memories of our voyage which began and ended in
the halls of Arlington.

LAY
Reginald D'Arcy receives a letter from his lawyers announ-
cing that he is the sole heir to his Aunt Agatha's million
dollar estate on certain conditions. Aye, and there's the rub!
It seems that his aunt had operated a Matromonial Bureau and on
her books the names of six women for whom she has contracted to
find husbands. The terms of the will now require that he ful-
fill this contract within one month from the time this notice
is received. Otherwise the million dollars 50 to the Home for
Crippled Cats. Think of it--only one month to provide six hus-
bands! Reginald enlists the help of his friend, Dean Garrett,
who proves to be a real business genius. And then, of course,
he is assisted by James, his valet.
The names of the six womeng Mrs. Lancaster, a rich widow,
Mrs. Hardin, another widow, not so rich, Marie Blake,a business
girly Miss Effie Cramer, a spinsterg Dulcey Lane, an actressg
and Mrs. O'Leary, an Irish wash woman--and a very lively and
determined bunch they are. The problem is where to find six
husbands. There are three gentlemen of fortune that figure
prominently in the deal, HFloppyu Smith, HTipu McCarty, and
nSpiken Jones. What happens when the ladies meet the gentlemen
turns the play into a very laughable episode for all and, as
you probably know, everyone is happily married in the end!

MISS JIMMY
The Junior Class chose nmlss Jlmmyn for their annual
play given on October 20 and 21. "Miss Jimmy" deals with
the laugh-provoking adventures of Jimmy, college youth,
who enters the dormitory of an exclusive girls' school in
search of a dress. The school is so exclusive that the
girls never have a chance to meet any men other than
their fathers, brothers, and cousins. Louise is a sopho-
more, a pleasant girl who is not so sure that studying
is the best thing that a girl can do in the spring. Flo
is her roommate, not so romantically inclined and tries
to appear hard-boiled by making wisecracxs. Catherine is
the type that men are said to prefer and she definitely
prefers men. Doris is the freshman drudge. Harriet is
the campus saob with an inferiority complex who would
like people to thins she is a siren. In contrast with the
college girls is Miss Natains, an old spinster, who heads
the school. She once had a boy friend who went off to
Cuba to join the Hough Riders. so far he hasn't come
back and she is still waiting. Jimmy is the typical col-
lege boy, a little serious but still gay and subject to
romance in the spring. Droopy, the colored janitor, is
exactly that, and just about as fast under the hat as he
is on the ground. Professor Frazier went to Oxford and
came back with a taste for tea sud an English accent.

Play the game hard, boys,
But play the game squareg
Give all you gave got
But remember: Be fair.
Stay in there and pitch,
Let them know you are thereg
Make every chance count
