'X Band Robin Hood And His Merry Band Increase Enthusiasm On The Hill Marching merrily through a success- ful year, Heights' Yellow Jacket Band worked many hours overtime to lift the enthusiastic spirit of the Hill. Band members began their year one Week before school opened, spending every morning drilling and learning band procedures. While lifting the roof at pep rallies, the band performed at eight football games and was the guest of the State Fair of Texas where they appeared in the Cotton Bowl. Other concerts included the school's Open House and appearing at the Ridg- lea shopping center, and a special school performance. The Jacket Band was an active part in the Armistice Day Parade, the Christmas Parade, and Stock Show Parade and appeared in the Rodeo Concert. Competing in the TCU Marching Contest, and the Jacksboro Music Fes- tival, the band also performed at Mon- nig Jr. High and presented the annual Band Concert. A yearly event,the Arlington Heights Music Festival, was held by the band for the Junior and Senior High. Science Club Apollo Draws His Glittering Chariot Over The Magical Realm f Science Since the days of Merlin the Magician, science has bubbled out of the cauldron into the test tube. In our era of radar and rockets science holds a most important part of school curriculum, with Apollo bringing to light many of its wonders. Meeting weekly, the Science Club provided opportunity for its members to prepare projects for the Science Fair which takes place every spring. Members opened the year with an installation dinner, held a Christmas party and brought the year to a close with a spring get-together.
