After a few formalities, the ship began its venture into the mirac- ulous man-made passage from the Atlantic to Pacific Ocean. A mammoth fresh water lake. Lake Gatun, lies be- tween the 3rd and 4th locks, which is advantageous for a rare fresh water washdown. Leaving the lush vegetation and the walls of mountains that sur- round this paradise. the journey contin- ued.
