Dawn Melton Brown Scholar Dawn Melton of Newport Beach, California, was se- lected as the 1978-79 Brown Scholar. Eligibility for the Brown Achievement Scholarship is based upon a high school grade point average of 3.5 or better and demonstrated leadership qualities both in the high school and in the local community. McCain Scholars Certain full-time freshmen students are named McCain Scholars at the first of each year, selection being based on a high school grade point average of 3.5 or better, participation in school and community activities, and high character. lt is renewable each year provided the student maintains a 3.3 cumula- tive grade point average or better at Arkansas Col- lege.
