The Argyle Orioles opened their undefeated season with an impressive non-league victory over South Wayne, followed by a defeat of Barneveld. The Homecoming game with the ’47 champions was hard fought, but Argyle had too much power and triumphed over Belleville, 38 to 0. Orfordville fell to the Argyle charges by the season’s top-heavy score of 78 to 12. The Orioles concluded their '48 football season with a victory over the powerful Brodhead team, 63 to 38, to win the State Line League Championship.
