In September of 1950 twenty five green freshmen appeared in the class
rooms and halls of A H S Among the familiar faces some new ones were
seen We were initiated by the upperclassmen by being required to do jobs
and run errands for the seniors The girls had o dress as football
players and the boys dressed as girls, carrying dolls In the evening we
were given a party and the day wasn't as bad as we had thought it might
be. Mr Swinger was our sponsor that year
Es sophomores we had much Vim, Vigor, and Vitality We entered enthu
siastically into all the activities of the school, taking part in clubs,
Since the beginning of our high school days there have been more girls
than boys in our class In our sophomore year we had 13 girls and 7 boys
That year we started the fund for our Senior Trip We sold magazines
setting our goal at S600 OO and surpassed the goal, making more money than
any other class had up to that time.
As juniors we started the year with our main interest centered on
concessions for the football and basketball games This proved to be
profitable for us because we worked hard at it
Our Junior Play, People Are 23221, was presented before one of the
largest audiences ever to attend an A H S play The winning side in
the ticket sales contest was treated to a party by the losing side
In the spring of our junior year we worked and slaved on the banquet
honoring the seniors Our theme, nUnder Western Skies was developed into
one of the prettiest and most effective there had been for several years
Everyone had a lot of fun during this year, and incidentally did his
share of work
cv
cv
and athletics.
. I n
Now we are on our last lap as we enter our senior year Out of the 19
in our class we find 7 who have gone to school together since the first
grade Janis Achelpohl, Faye Coley, Duane Earles, Ronnie Jones, Addie
Kinney, Gary Tracy, and Jackie Olmstead
The main event so far this year, was our Bingo and Ice Cream Party
We are looking forward to an enjoyable banquet, a successful ple and
a fun packed Senior trip to Colorado
Thinking back to the fun and the friendships we have had in
makes us almost regret that we are leaving But we are looking forward
hopefully to the future and what it has to offer us
