They were attired in one of the vocal music department's biggest achievements of many years—new choir robes. These robes were finally obtained after long hours of work and concentration on the part of Leonard VanCamp, vocal instructor, vocal students of the past two years and the helpful assistance of the Argentine P.T.A. The robes are royal blue and have reversible white and gold satin stole collars. The two largest vocal groups at A.H.S. were the Girls' Gleeclub,44 members strong, which met on third hour time, and the Mixed Chorus, 50 members strong, which met on fifth hour time. These two classes participated in the Fall Festival of Song, Christmas Program, and other vocal and instru- mental events. They, as the other vocal groups, were under the direction of Leonard VanCamp. Officers of Girls' Glee club were Marjorie King, pres, and Joyce Holland, vice-pres. With Beauty and Rhythm A. H.S. 's symphony orchestra provided musical en- tainment on various occasions during the school year. They furnished music for dramatic produc- tions. The orchestra was one of three groups which helped to present one of the most outstanding Christmas programs ever presented at Argentine and participated in the Spring Concert. Officers of the orchestra were Bob Jenkins, pres.; Sharon Fry, vice-pres,; and Barbara Mullin, sec. The largest of four groups under the direction of Vincent May was the 90 piece blue and gold marching band. The music makers played for all home football games and contributed to half-time entertainment. Performing on Oklahoma Day during the American Royal, marching in the Amer- ican Royal and Argentine Activities parades and participating in the Spring Concert kept this group busy. Officers were Judy Pringle, pres,; Clifford Jefferies, vice-pres,; Joyce Holland, sec.; and Frank Ingels, treas.
