CLASS Pll0PHECY
One day as I was sitting by my fire place the phone rang Much to my sur
prise it was an old classmate Wilma Ommen She had Just returned from the
1956 class reunion which I had not been able to attend and wanted me to see the
movie she had taken of our class I hopped a bus and as I sat down I noticed a
friend of mme Marc Dahman He told me that he was an economist now and en
Joyed his work very much As I got off the bus I noticed that the driver was Eddie
Noblitt He said that he had been giving drivers training to youngsters 1n high
school As I rang the bell of M1ss Ommen s home a d1st1ngu1shed looking butler
opened the door I recognized him lt was Howard Mason He took me into the
living room where M1ss Ommen was She had a gray streak in her ha1r other
wise she looked the same She started the film The whole class was to arrive
on a PETE airliner which was owned by Yvonne Stock The hostess was M1ss
Jams Parkerson The pilot was Ronnie Schmtker Did I say that everyone was to
arrive on a plane? I was mistaken Here comes Wilbur Parlier on his horse and
he 15 late too There are Marvel Lovekamp and her husband going to eat lunch
What is tl'us'P Eight children' ' ' E1leen Brasell was escorted to the reumon by a
military man who I believe 15 a former graduate of A H S also Here IS some
good news Mr Charles Leischner IS running for President and on the Republ1can
ticket at that Kay Wessler is trying to teach Richard Lippert something about
math but he has h1S own ideas about figures Bxll McLain is happily at work 1n
Tegeder gathering eggs and taking good care of her chicken farm Jim Nickel is
having a hard time Judging a beauty contest I think he 15 going to pick the Baton
twirler And there 15 Irene McCloud supervising her department in the telephone
office 1n Chicago Oh my' The lights went out' What shall we do? Never fear
there is Garry Hierman to the rescue He is home on leave from his duties 1n the
Marine Corps Here IS our sports announcer Neal Hart to brxng us up to date on
the championship match 1n the field of wresthng women wrestling He 15 not sure
who IS going to be the winner because it 1S an evenly matched team th1S year
Karen Dawson versus Dorothy Coats What? Did someone fall down? Well It is
Kathleen Ruppel but she 1sn t hurt because she has a good doctor to help her up
Susan Shannon IS taking notes on the reumon for her column in the newspaper She
1S a successful newspaper woman Here comes the plane and Bob Allen 15 all ex
cited because he thinks It might be the rest of his professional football team of which
he 15 the captain but he is disappointed because it 15 only the plane to take all the
members of the class of 1956 home George Hall 15 in a hurry because he doesn t
want to m1ss the show at h1s night club where he has Glenna Winkleman p1ay1ng a
Jazzy flute solo and then he has a big date with his favorite Broadway actress Lola
Van Doren
This IXLOV16 was under the direction of Mrs Schnake and Mrs Bla1r The music
was directed by Helen Kolberer who 15 also a band director LUC1119 Gmder was the
hair stylist
A tear glittered in my eye as I remembered all the wonderful people and good
times that I had at Arenzville High School

CLASS POEM
Whenever graduatlon comes
We llke to wonder why
The senlors were so famous
At good old Arenzvllle Hlgh
A l1ttle black Ford
And a Pepsodent smlle
The cheerleaders say
Bob has plenty of style
Elleen may go to college
It's only a ventured guess
But of one degree she's certaln
She'll get her M R S
W1th anyone who doubts lt
We'd lxke to make a bet
If you don t thlnk she's awfully sweet
You've not met Lucy yet
Eddle Noblltt has a Chevy
He l1kes to drvle around
One nlght he had an Acc1dent
He'll never l1ve It down
Irene McCloud's the Ford fan
She llkes all colors too
When she 1sn't 1n the whlte one
It's sure to be the blue
Two smlllng shapely rnaldens
Were Marc D and Garry H
They really stole the show
L1ke them short llke them tal
or Llke them 1n between?
Yvonne and Marllyn Tegeder
Are the nlcest that we've seen
Dorothy Coats and Karen D
Are always seen together
A glggle now a glggle then
It's the same 1n any weather
Stnglng llke a pretty b1rd
Cheerlng for the boys
Kathy 15 a v1v1d truss
Just full of charm and polse
Mary had a ltttle lamb
But Ronme has a trumpet
He plays so well the nelghbors say
That even they won't dump lt
Dlck Ltppert IS a fme young chap
He's nearly always busy
But he's not golng to Wesslers
To bargaln for a Chevy
After dolng lots of thmklng
And readmg up 1n books
We have at last declded
Charl1e's not as shy as he looks
A frlendly lad who's never sad
Is Jolly James H N1ckel
We've heard It sald he's very glad
Burlene IS never flckle
A c1ty sllcker certamly
Is gorgeous Georgle Hall
Slnce movlng 1n to Arenzvllle
He s really on the ball
Howard Mason
be a farmer
has that Chevy
lady charmer
Now frlendly
Has plans to
But smce he
He's qu1te a
be a math teacher
won't be strlct
Kay plans to
We hope she
We th1nk that she will often flnd
Her prlze student wlll be D1ck
Neal Hart can shoot a basket
Or get balls from the board
But he can't see another car
That equals h1s old Ford
V1vac1ous Susle Shannon
Is really lots of fun
The boys ln Beardstown often see
That famous whlte Hudson
Our cowboy W1b from west of town
Never goes wlthout hxs boots
He waves at all the glrls he sees
As down the road he shoots
Whenever the band IS play1ng
For 1f Helen 1sn't play1ng
Then lt hasn't started yet
Glenna lS a l1ttle g1rl
In bralns she does abound
She hopes to be a llbrarlan
She'll be the best around
Marvel IS a lovely blonde
Who walks wlth step so a1ry
No wonder she walks on tl clouds
She s th1nk1ng of her Jerry
When rldmg 1n a Bulck
You really can t complaln
That's why the glrls all tu n the1r heads
To smlle at B111 McLa1n
Tall and graceful w1th dark brown halr
She s really not so shy
Who IS It that calls Wllma up
Is lt some speclal guy'P
Jams IS one redhead
Who plans to be a nurse
She'll flnd a handsome patlent
W1th money ln h1s purse
These thlngs we w1ll remember
Of the class of '56
Now don t you thmk by any book
That they knew all the tr1cks9
