Durmg December we took part 1n the War Bond campa1gn and recexved S3 368 xn pledges. M1ss Tryon taught us how to wr1te a play, and each pupxl wrote one scene for the Vrkmg Drs covery of America , then Mlss Tryon put them together mto a full length play Everyone had ezther a part m the play or m 1ts stage manage ment We presented lt for our mothers enjoy ment After the play refreshments were served We have a number of active clubs among them the Junlor Red Cross and the V1ctory Club We enjoy packmg boxes and makmg favors for ch1l dren and SCIVICS men ln hospltals at our meetmgs We are all trymg to take our part 1n actxvxtxes that benefit our own vxllage and others farther from us N ' . Our mothers came to see our South Amerlcan project, whlch thxs year was hlgh hghted by several V1SltS from Mxss Robbxe, who taught us many Spamsh words It IS always fun to learn somethmg new Chr1stmas was an especxally busy and happy season for us as we presented our play called Mr Gadsey's Christmas Eve for the grade as sembly We are especially grateful to Alan Walk er and Patrlck Crxstello for getting us a beautlful Christmas tree whlch, after bemg trlmmed made our play a glorxous success At the begmnmg of Chrlstmas vacatxon we were mvxted to the home of Lo1s Carson for a Chrlstmas party Mrs Wuestner, our class mother, Mrs. Kipp, assxstant mother, and Mrs Carson pro vlded the refreshments. Our party really became excltxng when Mrs Santa arrwed wlth glfts from Santa In the sprxng we are lookmg forward to many soclal actnvxtzes whlch wxll help us to become better c1t1zens of Ardsley and the world as well as furnxshxng us good times
