The Class of 45 IS 1n many ways an average
class Perhaps we have not been partlcularly out
standmg m academic honors, but we have con
trxbuted our share to the usual hlgh standards of
Ardsley school spxrlt and morale Yet, 1n two
categorles we are umque The Class of 45 IS
the largest class ever to graduate, and It IS the
only class 1n history to have gone through the en
t1re four years of hlgh school while AIHEFICQ has
been Hghtmg a war
As a consequence much of our extra currlcu
lar actlvlty has had to do w1th the war eFfort
We have all been very active ln foui' War Loan
drives, whxle many of our fellow students have
part1c1pated ln scrap metal drlves and salvage
campalgns. Five of our classmates, Ray Pearce,
W1ll1am Borche1s, Augustme Fxlomena, John
Wright, and Andrew Noe, are now 1n the Un1ted
States Navy
In other enterprlses the class has more than
held 1ts own Thxs year s subscr1pt1on campalgn
was one of the most successful ever held. The
cooperatlon of the entlre student body 1n the
campalgn made the Washmgton trlp possxble
Because of the1r splendld support the hlgh school
was rewarded Wlth a Secret Desire Dance spon
sored by the Semors
frey Pollock Gustav Groth Fourlh Row Anthony Morettl

Mary Ann C1m1no Florence Content Carol Meyer John
Baverstock William Blasberg Warren Bauheu Robert
Edmunds Wllllam Bagge Next to Back Ruthven Vlrden
Dorothy Wheeler Beatnce Caporale Frances Erickson
Spelcher janet Rlordan
The trlp to Washmgton was memorable, made
at the txme when the government was bendmg
all 1ts efforts to brmg about a hoped for vlctory
Our Jumor year was a busy one As usual our
class publlshed the 1944 ARDSLEYAN, makmg a
neat proiit for our Semor Fund As our theme,
we chose The Peace to Come and the World of
Tomorrow In our Jumor year we presented 1n
assembly I Pledge Allegxance In our Fresh
man year we had presented the comedy Llttle
jack Horner to an enthusxastlc audlence, and
thereby ga1ned experlence One of the outstand
mg soclal events was the Nlght Club Dance
sponsored by the Jumor classes
Thls years Semor class, as lt graduates mto a
war torn world of strlfe, w1ll have much to look
back upon days filled with worthwh1le act1v1t1es
We of Semor R w1sh to extend our gratltude to
M1ss Robble who has been our loyal advxser for
the past four years, and we of Semor B wlsh to
express appreclatxon to Mlss Buell who has been
our advlser durmg th1s, our most 1mportant year
