X.. N! ll- .Eaak 0 WMU, Jena We Game Small in numbers, but tops in energy and ability, the l94O seniors have shonein just about everything in high school for three glorious years. From the ranks of these l5O aggres- sive upper classmen have come many of Ardmore High School's best scholars, leaders, athletes, speakers, and ac- tors. But let their record speak for itself. This year they won the Student Council service cup for the first semester, and at the last counting of points were ahead in the second semester competition. Some of the leading contributors to this victory were leannette Ellis and Gail McWilliams, both straight A students and commonly conceded to be geniuses. Taking the lead in class activities was canny and careful Gene Ritter, senior president. Also, the seniors supplied more than their quota of athletes this year, on the football squad were lohn Cole, R. C. Bates, Bob Shell, Wayne Daniel, Richard Vaughan, and limmy Payne. Senior basket ball lettermen included Richard Vaughan, Hi Bussell, I. A. Cross, Paul Duncan, Robert Williams, and all- state sharp-shooter lakie Chambers. Senior Groaners on the wrestling mats were Richard Head, Vernon Moyers, Wayne Daniel, and lohn Bramlet. Another big haul for the upper- classmen was made when Bill lngler won first place in the oratorical contest. A masterpiece in mellerdrammer was Seven Sisters , the senior play. Characters were Frieda Daniel, lerry lack, Betty V. Hintz, Betty Garrison, Ieannette Ellis, lune McGehee, Frankie Cooley, ferry Mae Leeman, lnola Frost, Marjorie Wymore, Gloria Frame, Betty Nan Den- nes, Mar lane Hagen, Awilda Payne, Shirley Miller, La- Y homa Massey, Gerald McNees, Bob Gardenhire, Bill Hol- man, Charles Wilbanks, Robert Dubberstein, Milton McCul- lough, Henry Baum.
