HGRANDAD STEPS OUT Directed by Miss Rasmussen our pictures ta en, gave our play-- Grandad Steps Out , went to Omaha, Nebraska, for Skip Day, and we were all present at the Junior Senior Banquet At the present time we eagerly await Baccalaureate R Commencement Bill Matson joined the group udng ing our final total to fifteen Mrs Campbell and Mr Brouwer were the class sponsors for this year, SENIOR CLASS PLAY Big Jim Mahoney Mrs Laura Morton Grandad Tilly Betty Shadduck Kip Shadduck Trudie Norwood Judy Norwood Ludie Norwood Jack Norwood Jim Mahoney Mrs Jobe Feeney Detective Mrs Dave Hawkins Sound hffects Glenda Blok George Blankers Evelena Fykstra Judy Andersen Lowell Baxter Audrey Koepnick Lois Bonderman LaVerna Nieuwenhuis Norman Van Donslear Kleth Verberg Kathleen Lemkuil Harold Muilenburg Charlotte Dykstra Bill Matson Grandad, ill a year ago, is still considered an invalid by daughter, Mrs Morton, who feeds him on nothing but soup and crackers while he dreams of thick, juicy steaks An old friend, returns from out in Arizona' and plans to stage s a supper for all his boyhood pal Jim helps Grandad make plans to get out of the house without his daughter's knowing Unfortunatley all his clothes are in storage His grandson, Kip, has come for a visit, so they bribe the maid to sneak Kip's clothes out of his room when Grandad appears in the suit wearing a redbow tie, his coat sleeves nearly up to his elbows, his pants halfway up to his knees, the audience really shakes the rafters The two old men sneak out of the house with nobody the wiser A nosey old maid across the street sees them and telephones Mrs Morton, who scoffs at the idea, saying her father is asleep on the sofa It is really Tilly, the maid, who has been bribed by Grandad to cover up with a blanket, and snore at intervals Kip, who has a date to go to the movies with the girl next door, gets a shock when he finds his suit missing His older sister, Betty, and her boy friend make the discovery that Grandad has disappeared Assuming theta burglar has stolerxAip's suit and kidnapped Grandad, they notify the police The tempo now gets, faster and faster while the detective, a regular nhuman olco c1nd,n and the family are out looking lor grandad he and Big Jim slip into the house with mysterious bandages aroun their heads A surprising romance develope between Miss Abby nlgglns, and Jim Mahoney, and just before the final curtain there is a scene that pets the big gegtlaugh of the many that are found in this hilarious farce N Nga Miss Abby Higgins Z . : Z Batricia Ballou STORY OF TH PLAY Y!
