got there and found out the many things like scrubbing the sidewalks with a tooth brush, asking in stores for left-handed monkey wrenches and washing people's feet, we changed our minds. At the end of the year we took part in our first class plays of which we were very proud. Of course, then we learned our parts in about an hour and new it takes almost 6 weeks. That's what high school has done for us. we gave two one-act plays, nDates Incorperatedn and nwild Cat Willie Has Girl Troublen. They were directed by Mr. Garrison. There were 16 starting our green Freshman year. Delmer Funderman left us after about half a semester. Jessie Hadden also left us after about 2 weeks in our little red schoolhouse, to go to Primg- har. Two new comers this year were Audrey Johnson and Arnold Reekers who had gene to country schools. Our faculty for that year was Supt. Butson, Mr. Heoppner, Mr. Nelson, Miss Watson, and Mrs. Tanner. Be- lieve it or not we all passed in spite of our greeness. During that summer Audrey Johnson moved to Sheldon. The next year we had 5 new teachers, Mr. Matzdorff, Supt. Maxson, Mrs. McCrill, Mr..Kuhns and Mr. Watson who filled out the last semester for Mrs. Tanner. In the eleventh grade we received one new teacher, our Principal Mrs. Camp- bell. When we were Juniors we gave our class play nApple-Blossom Timen, gave the seniors a banquet, and sponsored the Christmas party. We were very proud that both the lst and 2nd basketball teams were made up entirely of Juniors. Now, in our Senior year we are about to end our 13 years in the Archer school. Jessie Hadden came back to us this year to make 12, of theoriginal 16 who started, to graduate together. We have taken part in music, dramatics, school newspaper, annual, athletics, and new and then class recitation. We have taken part in all the usual Senior activities such as getting our pictures taken in Sioux City, sponsor- ing the Christmas party and Senior Class Play. we gave 2 Class Plays this year a one-act uDear Lady, Be Brave' and the 3-act Play nHebgeb- lin Housen. Those graduating this spring will be, we hope, Gladys Akeson, Bruce Baxter, Mavis Bilsland, Beverly Bonderman, Glenn Bond- erman, Dale DeWaay, Jessie Hadden, Shirley Harms, Stanley Muilenburg, Eugene Nicuwenhuis, Duane Peterson, Robert Wilkens, Charlene Westphal, Jacquelyne DeRoes, Junior Vander Sluis, Allan Bertelsen, and Arnold Reekers. This ends our school history, but just begins our life history. By Beverly, Glenn, Duanq and Gladys Dear Teacher: Please excuse Chester for staying home as he is sick. The doctor said he must stay in and that is why he stayed out. James: 'What's the difference between labor and capital?' John: 'Suppose I loan You five dollars: that's capital.' James: WAnd what about labor?' John: 'Getting it baek.u
