game to Nocona The score was 13 6 It was the bapt1smal contest for
several players who proved themselves worthy The W1ldcats only tally
resulted from a pass from quarterback Powell to r1ght half Patr1ck
The next encounter was Wlth Valley V1ew It was the f1rst conference
game The f1nal score of the game was 20 O Patr1ck made all three
touchdowns
The Seymour Panthers whohad Just suffered a 7 0 defeat at the hands
of Ch1ll1cothe were met next They were determ1ned to avenge themselves
The1r offense was stubbornly met but they accompllshed the1r purpose by
a slxty f1ve yard run wh1ch netted them a touchdown and a tally
The W1ldcats hot under the collar came back to trample Ch11l1cothe
25 O The f1rst score came 1n the f1rst mmute of the second quarter on
a pass from Powell to Page Patr1ck went over r1ght tackle for 30 yards
to make the second score The th1rd came on a stra1ght dr1ve over center
by Bell and the last s1x po1nts came as the result of a th1rty yard pass
from Powell to Page
Playmg 1n the Dust Bowl at Jacksboro the followmg week the W1ld
cats camped on the .Tack Rabb1t s goal l1ne durmg the greater part of the
contest but lady fortune Just wouldn t sm1le The W1ldcats were held

The next game w1th Burkburnettwas played 1n the ram The Bulldogs
took advantage of the mud broke loose on the lnckoff and carr1ed the ball
yard l1ne The f1nal score was 7 0
Stung by defeat and 1n a determ1ned mood the W11dcats went to Olney
to knock off the d1str1ct leaders The W11dcats Jumped to a 12 0 lead m
the f1rst quarter but the Cubs ra111ed 1n the second quarter and the half
closed w1th a 12 7 score In the last half the Cubs ralhed to w1n 21 12
Lew1s scored both Wlldcats touchdowns John Bell bullback was named
player of the week by the Fort Worth Star Telegram for h1sf1ne sports
mansh1p 1n th1s heated battle
T1red of be1ng on the short end of the stzck the W1ldcats handed the
Hol11day Eagles a 19 7 defeat Patr1ck made one touchdown and Lew1s
made the other two
In the only let down of the year the W1ldcats dropped a dull one to Iowa
Park 12 0 no excuse
In the last game of the year Crowellwas chpped 13 O The two scores
were made by Lew1s and Patr1ck
