Judging by the look on Mr. S's face, it appears that the play is about to come to a climax with the discovery of the real identity of Charley's aunt. The players are J. Topper, Barbara Byrnes, Susan Savercool, D. Barrett, G. Hunt, Joy Neff, and M. McGrath. Dave Barrett unconcemedly fans his way out of a tight spot in response to suggestions from John Topper. Reggie Van Gleason, Ill, gets into the act at the right. Moderators of the Mask and Buskin, Frs. Kelly and Churbuck, are faced with the problem of choosing the right people for the right parts as they watch tryouts for Charley's Aunt.

At right: At the rally berore the St. John's football game, Student Council president Bernie Dove presents the award for the winning poster to section 4C's president, John Kammerer. The poster contest has now been set up as an annual event with enthusiastic participation coming from every class section. From the very outset of the fall semester, president Bernie Dove and the other members of the Student Council began to lay the groundwork for what proved to be one of the most active years in the short history of the organization. Under Father Melcher's direction, the Council inaugurated an orientation program for the new freshmen during the first week of school. The football and basketball pep rallies were also inspired by the Council. Probably the most far-reaching accomplishment of this year's Student Council was the investigation of the National Honor Society and the recommendation, later approved by the administration, that a chapter be established here. The Carroll Chapter of the NHS will be in full operation next term. 'R -,lf 'J C 5 P llftttiix Below: The 1955-56 Student Council.
