When strong hands and able bodies built these walls from which our
school arose, words were instilled into the foundations,
"Let Us Learn."
Through the past tour years, the class of '55 has endeavored to follow these
words molded forever in durable stone. The first recipients of that price-
less heritage, knowledge, may be proud of the school they helped to create.
Closing this chapter in their lives they advance with the thought that
there is-

The Outstanding leadership of Alan Graves, our
Student Body President, resulted in many activi-
ties and accomplishments of which Arcadia High
School can be proud. His tall, lean figure was
an accustomed sight at assemblies. In Student
Council, he conducted the chosen representatives
in a democratic way, making decisions and
plans by which the whole school benefited.
In the ottice of Vice-President, Dwight Cocke has
served a successful term. He has been instru-
mental in developing plans tor the annual Pow-
Wow and has presided over the activities ot the
Inter-Club Council in planning tor many club
functions.

The Junior Class may look proudly on their contribution to this school
year. Class parties, assemblies, and the prom, all complete a memorable
year. They are but a prelude to "that most important year of all"-the
Senior year. Those wonderful months will be forever a vivid memory of
a happy year and time well spent.

No longer newcomers, but old hands at dodging assignments, are we the
class of '57. Trying to get our program into line for future years, our life
is divided between grueling homework and fabulous school activities.
Passing from life in the lower division, we eagerly await the right to be
called uppefciossmen. F Udifdiuoj .

"Lets really yell!" was the cry of Phil, Margie,
Rog and Mike and the crowd cheered on. Our
lively songleaders, Sheila, Gail, Sonya, Nancy
ancl Evie, whose smiles and flashing pom poms
brightened spirits, led Us through our Apache
fight song.
Half-time activities were enlivened by the
thrilling formations of the Tom Tom girls and
the war dances of our Medicine Man, Johnny

By blanking a strong South Pasadena team 12-O, Adcadia's Apaches of 1954 became a
history-making eleven. The distinction of winning Arcadia's first Varsity football game
will remain alvvays with these boys. Although this being their only win, a spirit of fight
and determination was part of the Apaches in every game they played. They never gave
up! Late in the season the Arcadians hit paydirt again against Rosemead but went on to
lose the fracas 13-7. Leonard Bose was elected captain for the year and Eddie Rowland
received All-Pacific League honors by being selected tackle on the second team. Honor-
able mention went to: Bob Bailey, Stan Lamb, and Mickey Noble.

This past year has witnessed many exciting assemblies, including awards pre-
sentations, musical programs and exchange assemblies, under the able guidance
ot Pat Lewis, Assembly Commissioner. Midway through the year the "Down-
beats" made their appearance when the Student Body witnessed our own ex-
change assembly. The voices of the A Cappella Choir delighted us with excel-
lent singing under the direction ot Mr. James Neumeister.
