Senuor Class Hlstory ln September l936 a class of baffled and bewuldered chuldren entered the furst grade to begun the twelve year task that lay ahead The furst sux years gradually passed by ln the fufth and suxth grades members of our class took part un an ele mentary chorus and un the operetta Tom boy Joe Upon reachung the seventh grade we found ourselves growung up The upstaurs routune seemed so struct and we really mussed our recesses and snowball fughts An umportant event durung the eughth grade was the state eughth grade test Hugh school at last' The future class of 48 assembled to choose courses and begun hugh school lufe We luved un great susoenSe and were soon adopted by the hugh sChOOl un the unutuatuon ceremonues The class was organu ed under tl-ue leadershuD of Muss Weurner our class sponsor Joe Ebersole presudent Dan Nuckelson vuce presudent Marulyn People secretary and Lauua Bow man treasurer We chose as our motto Goung Huaher Toward Success as our flower the red carnatuon and as our class Colors blue and whute We were represented un sports glee Club hour student councul and un an operetta We also presented an assembly program As Sophomores our actuvutues took on more sugns of maturury Under the leader shup of the followung offucers Marulyn Pepple presudent Ramon Noel vuce presudent Phyllus Caun secretary treasurer Donna Peters reporter and Mr Kynn our class sponsor we unutuated the Freshmen To show our dramatuc abuluty we presented a one act comedy Elmer and the Love bug We also presented an assembly pro gram and sponsored the annual March of Dames all wuth satusfyung success ln September of 46 we came back to school as Junuors We elected as presudent Dan Nuckelson vuce presudent Joe Eber so'e ecretary Laura Bowman treasurer Annabel Marvun and reporter Carolyn Huffman Our sponsor was Mr Groth O March l9 we presented our class play Anne Whats Her Name under the du rectuon of Mrs Sharnunghouse We gave an assembly program sponsored a hugh school party and many took part un the operetta The Gay Romance Sux members of our class were enrolled un the Natuonal Honor Socuety These students were selected on the basus of merut un four tuelds scholar shup leadershup character and servuce Durung our Junuor year a new system for publushung the Annual was begun and thus we had the opportunuty to help the Senuors publush the l947 edutuon of the Arcaduan Our greatest achuevement of the Year was the Junuor Senuor banquet held at the Phoenux Hotel Alas Senuors' There were only twenty seven of us thus year Mr Groth was our sponsor agaun and we elected the followung offucers presudent Marulyn Pepple vuce presudent Joe Ebersole secretary Annabel Marvun treasurer Pat Huffman and e porter Dorothy Fulluater Thus year we were well represented un school actuvutues There were seven of our members un the Honor Socuety and a number un the band and orchestra Many took part un the operetta Ask the Professor and we publushed the l948 edutuon of the Arcaduan ln May the Junuors entertauned us at the Junuor Senuor banquet We the members of the class of 48 have funushed our scholastuc career at Ar cadua and are now ready to begun lufe un earnest We are grateful to all who have helped smooth our way through the furst part of our lufe To you the under gradu ates we wush the best of luck to you also we leave the responsubu uty of mauntaunung the school standards and tradutuons wuth the suncere hope that you achueve even greater success than any of your predecessors Dorothy Fulluater Egbert Home Furnushmgs 404 6 F Sondusl y Phone 2442 rlxf George D n Bob Jae 0 Q 1 1 1 , , 1 1 ' ' H 1 11 - .
