To you the students ofA P H S
We br1ng you your Prowl we th1nk lt the best
That all of our efforts strange tho lt may seem

The thlngs we have done 1n w1nter and fall
But our heads have not always be en up 1n the a
And so we allchallenge andth1s1sada
To go through the p1ctures and then see
If each doesn t bnng back afond memory
Of all ofyour Joys each cry each laugh

We know how hard it is to recall
Mr. A. j. Hagy
To Mr. Hagy we dedicate
This Panther Prowl of '49
His hours, tho' long and often late,
Are worked with joyg and every time
A forgetful student is in dire need
OfMr. Hagy and his famous key
He is always there, a friend indeed.
This is a token, small tho' it may be.
Yes, Mr. Hagy, your well-known smile
Has made our school a remembered place,
So take this Prowl and once in a while
Go through it and recall each friendly face

Sum,
For the first time in the history of your high s c ho ol the Panther
Prowl will be a complete history of the school year. This bookis
what you have made it. Turning the pages, you will see education
in a democratic institution. Mo st important of all are the human
relations of school and community. Only if we sense the challenge,
can we rn ake our democracy a living reality for our children and
our people.
May you in later years receive much enjoyment from turning these
pages and living again these four years of nigh school.

In my years of teaching, one thing I have found constant--the en-
thusiasm of youth. To the students of Aransas Pass HighSchool,
I offer two bits of advice: Keep your enthusiasm as you grow old-
er and you will be a force for good in the world. Anchor your en-
thusiasm to a star, for "A man's reach should exceed his grasp
or what's a heaven for."
