W it , I ., s, ' . above: Donald Crawford below: Walter Ray, Henry Rianda, and Dick Jamison ART A D MUSIC This year the band, under the direction of Mr. Revelli, and the orchestra and choral groups, under the guidance of Mr. Denton have arranged for the various specialized groups in the music department flviadrigals, jazz Band, etc. J to per- form in invitational concerts and competitions. This is in addition to the always excellent Fall and Spring concerts. Art department courses have expanded this year to include such things as filmaking, environ- mental sculpture, macrorne, and new pottery techniques. A system where teachers through- out the district make slides and tapes demon- strating art techniques for use as supplementary teaching aids is also being developed. P.E. Aragon's physical education depart- ments have been blessed by three recent additions to their teaching staff. The first is Nick Delurgio, a recent graduate from Stanford. Along with his teaching duties Mr. Delurgio is also the coach of the soccer team. New teachers for the girls this year are Leta Bakke, a graduate of UC Berkeleyg and Wilhemia Tribble, a graduate of the University of New York City. Both the girls and boys PE depart- rnents try to make physical educa- tion a succession of skillsg with the boys going from C's to A's and with the girls starting off with two years of basic skills in all sports and then progressing to selected sports in the last two years.
