About 12 largely untutored string players formed the beginnings of an orchestra. After two years, student leadership was beginning to become effect ive. Increasin l throu h th ears the instructo has de ended u on mature outstan ing junior an senior stu ents w o ave set t e pace or younger musi- cians in elevating our musical standards and performance level. I feel that m groups of the previous two years established a record of achievement that will frema-in-auchallen e to our music students in succeeding years--a challe e which the A Cappella Choir, Orchestra and Madriga Singers o ' - ave met with purposeful enthusiasm. --Ben Denton Ara on's 'rst year, 's , s owe ' 5 pieces in the school band. Throughout t - course of ten years, we have added to the total, and we currently have a 96 piece band.
