As of the spring sports deadline for the EL TESORO, the Don varsity horse- hiders had yet to play aleague game. But a promising season was to be expected by Coach Charles Polk, for he had lost not a single starter from last year's squad. Behind the plate were Glenn Rivera and veteran Rick Wirgler. Shar ing pitching duties were Greg Woodard, Hank Hediger, and Mike Denton. At first base was Jason Heller: at second base was Pete Lewis, Aragon's all-around great, who was all-league two years running. At shortstop was senior Mark Jorgensen, and at third base hol1er guy Chuck Biederman. Roaming the outfield pastures were Chris Nelson, Mike McCann, Rich Mazzoncini and Steve Trueblood.

This group is advised by Mr. Edward Diaz. One of the major social events of the year is the extremely successful Grid Classic, sponsored by the Block A. Block A's are awarded to boys according to letters earned in athletics. In order of ascending merit are Red, Black, White, and the Golden A Qgiven to the athlete who has lettered in nine seasonal teamsl. .Athletes who have already attained their White Block A as of September 1962 are: Mark Jorgenson, Lani Hediger and Chris Nelson.
