W This year's varsity football team started th season with a rush, bogged down at mid-season but revived at the season's end -- although losin to Hillsdale in a heartbreaker, 20 -- 18. Aragon opened the season with a 7 -- 6 wi over Westmoor, Champions of the North Peninsul League. The team upset St. Francis in the neil game 13 -- 6 with two spectacular touchdown r by Pete Lewis. Against Terra Nova, the Dons we on a scoring splurge with everyone getting int the act. Touchdowns were scoredbyJas0nHelle1 Rick Wirgler, Pete Lewis, and Mike Noce. The fine score was 35 -- 13. The highpoint of the season was a thrilli 7 -- 6 win overCapuchino which 'saw our defensi unit twice hold the Mustangs on the Don's two yar line. Fine defensive work was turned in by Gar

Rocklage, Mike McFadden, Bob Ford, LarryJones, and Jason Heller. The touchdown was scored by Pete Lewis with Lars Flodihn converting the point after touchdown. After successive losses to Serra, San Mateo, Mills, and Burlingame, the Dons played their great Thanksgiving Day game with Hillsdale. The Dons played hard and were leading with 2 1X2 minutes left to play. Then Hillsdale, in possession of the ball, drove to the winning touchdown with less than a minute remaining and the final score was 20 -- 18. Outstanding performances were turned in by Larry Smith, Steve Trueblood, Mike McFadden, Pete Lewis, and Mike Noce. Coaches Taylor, Polk, and Vial can look for- ward to a prosperous season next year with the return of many strong juniors and sophomores. A! WJQJT 1.46. Mike McFadden, Aragon Tackle, was honored by the Peninsula sports writers as the All Peninsula League Tackle. Mike at 6'2 and 225 pounds was the biggest man on the All League team. Coach Charles Polk gives credit to Mike for doing an out- standing job for Aragon all season long.
