You can find him hanging around the art room but his favorite place is the ocean. John would like to attend Swain School of Design and become a commercial artist. He spends his fall mornings extracting sunbeams out of cucumbers while he dreams of traveling to Lithuania. When he’s sad, John screams. His most embarrassing moment was when he walked into a ladies’ room at a bowling alley. Fred’s favorite place is Gilly’s Auto. He likes cheeseburgers, Aerosmith, bummin’ around, and Barbara. He enjoys surfing and racing. He will miss his friends and power mechanics after high school. Lauryl J. Her most memorable moment in high school was when she was picked for the Queen’s Court at the Prom and her favorite day is February 19, 1977. Happiness is being alive and able to enjoy life and love (with Brian, of course! ) Joseph Andrews 175 Slab Bridge Rd. Assonet Sagitaurius “Don’t worry about tomorrow, be happy and live today.” Joey’s favorites are tennis, Chris Evertt, summer, wine, and the New Year. Happiness is living on the beach. Joey’s most likely to be found cutting Mr. Stark’s class. Mark can always be found in the library. His favorite person is Mrs. White. Mark enjoys pottery making, lemonade, summer, and pancakes. His favorite day is Christmas. Michael James Ashton Dr. Braley Road East Freetown “Watch me try to touch the sky, but catch me when I fall.” Mike’s ambition is to become a radio technician. Happiness is a beautiful spring day. Mike’s favorites are Donna, baseball, ice cream, pep rallies, and March 5. His pet peeve is people who don’t know exactly what it’s all about. ( Whodoes?) After school she’ll be taking care of Naomi and Rico. She may be heard saying “really”. Ruthie’s pet peeve is doors at Apponequet closing in her face. She likes any kind of food that she doesn’t make. Apponequet has meant getting up at 6 A.M. She can be found in the girls room and skipping gym class. She would like to travel cross country and her favorite date is August 4, 1973. Brian Barboza Hilltop Acres Lakeville Theresa Marie Barboza 39 Braley Road East Freetown Aquarius “Love is . . . together” Terry likes dancing, singing, pepsi, basketball, and being with people, especially David. Among her favorites are sleeping, pizza, and Soul music. Happiness to Dana is living each day knowing where he’s going when he dies. He enjoys skinny-dipping. Cat Stevens, scuba diving, and Molson Ale. Her pet peeve is having all her tests on the same day. She may be found skipping Algebra. Kathy will miss her friends after high school. She would like to go to college and travel to Russia. He likes soft rock and hotdogs. His favorite place is woodshop. His pet peeve is Mr. Hennings. Bob can always be found in the library. Elizabeth M. Bismore Cherry Street Lakeville Taurus “The main thing in life is not to be afraid to be human.” Betty’s ambition is to live a happy life with friends. She’s most likely to be found having a good time with Tina. Her most embarrassing moment was when she totaled her VW. When she’s sad, Betty will talk to a close friend. Jeffs most embarrassing moment was when he was playing softball and noticed his pants had a BIG hole in them (OH NO! ) Jeff enjoys riding his bike, baseball, being with frien ds, and good looking girls. Jeff would like to travel to California one day. “What’s up?” Johan Olof Bosaeus SKOGSMYRSVAGEN 19 UPPSALA SWEDEN Cross Country 4 Ski Club 4 Johan’s ambition is to sail around the world. His favorite food is strawberries with cream and sugar. Johan’s favorite place is the kitchen. His favorite season is summer, and his favorite day is Christmas. After school he plans to study at the university to become an engineer of some kind. Johan enjoys all of his friends. His favorite moment was the 1974 Boston Garden game and his favorite date is June 5, 1975. Chris thinks the new systems of teaching are just dams in the river of education. 1 Douglas F. His favorite season is fall. Doug hopes someday to travel to Europe. He says he’s going to miss his friends most after high school. “Don’t worry about it.” Kathleen P. Her favorite place is in study and the person she most admires is Mr. Stark. Tennis and swimming are her favorite sports. Her favorites are french fries, chocolate, Elton John, and Chicago. Her pet peeve is when people crack their knuckles. Mary Elizabeth Byrnes 27 Buena Vista Avenue Assonet “Today is the first day of the rest of my life.” “Mackeral” wants to make the most out of her life. She enjoys having a good time with friends. She can always be found in a little red Toyota. Mary likes Horseneck Beach, Elton John, Mrs. Teves, beer, and pizza. Kathryn M. (The Star Drive-In) After school she wants to go to college and be successful and happy. Her most memorable moment at AHS was making cheering, which she’ll miss the most after she graduates. Rebecca Ann Chace Freetown Street Lakeville “Where your treasure is, there will be your heart.” Becky doesn’t know what she wants to do as far as work is concerned, but she definitly wants to be happy. Her most embarrassing moment was when her books got kicked up and down the corridor. She likes summer days, eating clams, drinking Sprite, all while listening to Seals and Croft. Deborah A. Basketball 2 Debbie’s ambition is to travel anywhere and everywhere. Happiness is to be free and not to be obligated in anyway and to do what she pleases. Debbie’s pet peeve is people hassling her. Her favorites are Joni Mitchell, bagels, fall, and Veterans Day. He is most likely to be found in church singing and playing the piano. His favorite music is Andrae Crouch and the Disciples Gospel Rock. Glenn’s most embarrassing moment was when he split his pants. “Seagull” . . . wants to be rich and happy, and is most likely to be found at Lynn’s house. His favorites are Rangley, Maine, eating spare ribs, and listening to soft music. His favorite season is Winter and favorite pastime is riding snowmobiles. Some of her favorites are RAJP, skiing, softball. Sept. 28, 1974, and Schlitz. Jane most admires the machinist in Assonet. She’s most likely to be cutting one class per quarter. Jane would like to travel half way around the world. (only half way?) Jane feels the time is up now. i Howard Dawson 9 Simpson Lane Assonet Capricorn “To thine own self be true.” Football 1, 2, 3, 4 Howie’s ambition is to discover his ambition and goals. Some of his likes are maple-walnut ice cream cones, football, motorsports, and kool-aid. Howie would like to travel to Europe after he attends college. His favorite date is March 1974. His most embarrassing moment was when he put “hot stuff’ on at football camp. Dave’s favorites are Sandy, spaghetti meatballs, football, and going parking. January 9th is his favorite date. Freetown Aires “Happiness is being with someone you love” Pejay’s ambition is to make something of herself Some of Pejay’s favorites are Terrance Johnson, David Gomes, her mother, basketball, cities like Boston, Soul music, and weekends. Jake, who may be known as Groucho, can be found inside his basketball socks with eight stripes or hiding underneath the dictionary in the library. Jake likes basketball, jello, Jimi Hendrix, and feeding the cockroaches. Mrs. Springer pulled down Glenn’s pants and spanked him in first grade. We had Pee Wee Olympics. There was no talking during lunch at Assawompsett. Everyone had braces. There were fifteen swings for a hundred and twenty kids. We played squareball. Richard and Patti got married during recess. Judy wet her pants. We had pajama parties. Brenda was as tall as everybody else. Laurie had short hair. Pat always threw up. Ed taped Mrs. Cole yelling at her fourth grade writing class and got caught. Niki, Doris, Vee, and Donnie were going to run away from fourth grade unless Mrs. Norris left ten candy bars by the boys jungle gym. Diane knew all her times tables. We had roller skating parties at Freetown Elementary. All the girls wore nylons to the sixth grade banquet. Theresa and Pat shot elastics at Mr. Merrit’s head in science. Wally showed Miss Hammel how to play feely- meely. We never could keep a music teacher very long. No one had the munchies. Girls wore dresses. Patty was never going to get married. Andy always got in trouble. We had to explain to Judy what an S.O.B. was. Patti climbed out of the windows in Mrs. Morrisons class. Paul got detentions for giving Mr. Mitchell crank phone calls. Lee was sheriff of Boomtown. Howie played the violin because he was in love with Diane. Mr. MarsheU’s English class put on Romeo and Juliet. We had to stand in the corner in Mr. Marshell’s English class. Robin and Sue inched across the stage to “Glow Worm” as glow worms. Everyone met at the mall. Fishnets were chic. Army jackets were chic. Judy had a purple fur dress. Everyone had a crush on Dana. We counted how many times Mrs. Esterbrooks and Miss Keavy said, “okay.” We had double sessions. We were afraid of Mr. Mitchell. Nancy and Ann were thrown out of the library for asking Mr. Brulotte if he wore a toupee. Gina changed her shirt on mainstreet. Lauren and Patti were old army buddies. The big marshmallow fight happened. Sue was at Pope park with nothing on. Jimmy set fire to Pat’s hair. We saw sex movies in Mrs. Quelle’s class. Cindy was called “radioisotope.” Patti was called “Eve.” Lauren was called “gerbal.” We couldn’t wait to go to high school. 1976 seemed so far away. Seniors were men and women. Freshmen were in love with the seniors. We had to have lounge cards. John dressed up as a pencil. Gladess left Bernard. k Everyone was sick before the Boston Garden game in ninth grade. Everyone wore their jackets to school. There was a sign up sheet in front of the girls and boys rooms. We raided the teacher’s and the home ec. rooms. Mr. Jorgenson told us about the submarine races. Mr. Piasecki’s gerbals kept getting loose. Beezea and Eddy put all of Mr. Riley’s yard- sticks through the surface planer. The sports boys and the freaks were going to fight. i i j i i Everyone went to everybody else’s party. Cheryl, Robin, Donna, and Bonnie went to horseneck and sat in the rain. Pat knocked down the Virgin Mary. Richard locked the key to his band locker in his band locker. Sam wore a dress. Doug lost his glasses in the lake. Richard got gum stuck on him at yearbook. Debbie broke her school ring twirling. Steve threw a baton on the roof. Patti’s locker got decorated. Carol pushed Amanda at the concert. Beth laughed so hard in Mr. Rose’s. Lisa, Paul, Ann got kicked out of Mr. Furtado’s. We put pajamas on the typewriters. We had sock hops. We decorated the gym for concerts. We won the prize on the 4th of July. Shelley got her license. Mr. Greeson had short hair. Someone used a lunch tray instead of a cookie sheet in home ec. and it melted in the oven. The seniors streaked back from foot- ball practice. Freshmen were taller.
