Our hearts are filled with excitement and anxiety. As we walk up to receive our diplo- mas we wonder . . . where do we go from here? We've always had the security of the school routine and its activities, surrounded by our friends with their familiar ways. Now we'll all be going in different direc- tions, and we wonder how long it will be before the memories that meant so much start to fade. After twelve years of this we should be ready to move on, but we feel like we are leaving a part of us behind. Maybe that's good though because we have really changed in the years that we've been here, and we must now recognize that the only ceiling life has is the one we give it. We are now surrounded by infinite possibilities for growth and achievement. 122 Closing Anita Hylton, top honor student. Marie Rose, second honor student. She has explained the scholastic requirements, helped with schedules, worked for scholarships, and has done all in her power to improve the outlook of the Appalachia High School students toward their futures. Her retirement will leave a vacancy at Appalachia High School which will be extremely hard to fill. May God be with a gracious lady in her retirement. l l Miss Stout explains a mid-term schedule change to Robert Sturgill. 1 i ' . .", Miss Stout looks over some forms with Robin Clisso, Mary Falin, and Susie West. And this, XA sometimes, was hard to do. But the realization that the entire book would be only as good as the individual sec- tions comprising it, kept us working. Qwxmvby .5 126 Clos ng ,,,.L.
