1953 FooTBALL UMMARY
The 1953 Apopka Blue Darters suffered through an injury-riddled sea-
son and managed to walk off the field victorious in five games while losing
three. Two games were deadlocked,
The Darters showed a lot of fight and did well under difficult condi-
tions. '
Other teams showed their respect for the Darter's fair play by' present-
ing them for the second straight year with the OBC Sportsmanship, Award.
Apopka rose to its greatest height on Turkey Day by coming back from
a 13-0 halftime deficit to tie the Wildcats of Winter Park 19-19,
Five Darters made the UBC All-Star Squad. They are: R. Pitman,
P. Watters, C. Goff, I... Edwards, and L. Reid.

and will be lost to the squad next year. They are: R. Pitman, P. Watters,
