Two games were deadlocked, The Darters showed a lot of fight and did well under difficult condi- tions. ' Other teams showed their respect for the Darter's fair play by' present- ing them for the second straight year with the OBC Sportsmanship, Award. Apopka rose to its greatest height on Turkey Day by coming back from a 13-0 halftime deficit to tie the Wildcats of Winter Park 19-19, Five Darters made the UBC All-Star Squad. They are: R. Pitman, P. Watters, C. Goff, I... Edwards, and L. Reid. Nine members of the 1953 squad completed their eligibility this season and will be lost to the squad next year. They are: R. Pitman, P. The '54 Blue Darters enjoyed the most successful season in the history of the schoolg compiling a 22-4 season record and going to the finals of the state tourna- ment. In compiling this impressive record the Darters annexed the O, B. C. season and tournament champion- ships. They also won the Destrict 4 Title. The Dar- ters had a nineteen game winning streak before being defeated by Fletcher of Jacksonville Beach in the finals of the state tourney.
