to joining the Navy he attended Tren-
ton Technical Institute where he stud-
ied Electro-Mechanical drafting.
Enlisting in the Navy 15 April 1969,
RTC, Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon
graduation from Recruit Training, he
attended Radarman Class CA, School
and Radarman Class KC" School for
EW Operator. He served onboard
USS GUADALCANAL CLPH 71
from january 1970 until January
1973. He reenlisted in the Navy 12
September 1977 and was assigned to
Fleet Combat Direction Systems
Training Center Atlantic. He then
reported onboard US NIMITZ
CCVN 681 in August 1979, and while
serving as O1 Divisionis Leading Petty
Ofhcer he was selected as NIMITZ'S
'cSailor of the Yearv for 1983. Master
Chief Robbins reported to Fleet
Combat Training Center Atlantic in
October 1984. Wfhile there he earned
his Associate of Science Degree from
the University of New York, RegeDIS
with Militar Excellence. He re orte
onboard PCU NORMANDY in June 1988 as Operations Department Leading Chief! Petty Officer. In Seiptem-

Johnson was born in Boston Massachu
setts and 1a1sed in the San F1 ancisco Bay
area He graduated from the United
States Naval Academy in 1985 with a
Bachelor s Degree in Physics and was
commissioned an Ensign In December
1985 he was assigned to USS ROARK
CFF 10525 as First Lieutenant. He then
attended Surface Warfare Officeris
School in Coronado California and
reported to USS VINCENNES CCG 495
in,July 1986, as Ordnance Officer and
Navigator. In 1988 he was awarded
CINCPACFLT's Ship Handler of the
Year award. After three years and two
deployments to the Westem Pacific and
the Arabian Gulf, he was ordered to pre-
commission USS ARLEIGH BURKE
515 as Fire Control Officer. Fol-
lowing assignment to ARLEIGH
BURKE, in May 1992, he attended
Department Head School in Newport,
Rhode Island. He received follow-on
orders to USS SHILOH CCG 675 based
in San Diego where he reported in Feb-
ruary 1993 as Weapons Officer. He
assumed duties as Combat Systems Offi-
cer in January 1995.
