Mark Bissel — Vice Pres. VALEDICTORIAN - Doug Bowers SALUTATORIAN- Sue Kanmwver September. 1977. We are the senior class of Antwerp High School. We immediately began to cross of the part of the outside world, anticipating the end — and yet the beginning. Although we acknowledged the idea of being in our last vear. the true meaning of this was slow to sink in. The New Year came and went and 1 978 was officially here. Soon the days began to drag bv and vet the months passed and we somehow made it. May finally arrived. It is May 26, 1978 and the gymnasium slowly fills with proud, yet somewhat anxious parents, relatives and friends. As the crowd squirms to get comfortable, the band begins to boldly play " Pomp and Circumstance " and the Commencement exercises begin. The graduates march into the gym and take their seats at the front. Before long everyone is seated and the speeches begin. A nd memories begin to creep into the heads of all the students who are seniors for the last time. Tears are shed and picture cubes flash. Every one is clapping and the graduates rise, trying to refocus on the event at hand and push the memories back for another date, and all together, as a group for the last time, the senior class of 1978 proudly turn their tussles from the right to the left.
