Dreams. Tradition
The sounds of Antonian hold much in store, from the daily routine,
to the special events and national prestige received from the
schoolls organizations. To uphold those fond memories of such
activities, a soundsheet has been produced and is bound at the left.
Locate the perforated edge of the soundsheet flocated next to the
gutter or center of the two pagesj and tear out gently. Place the
soundsheet on your record player manually-should the sound-
sheet slip while playing, place a penny on the soundsheet as indi-
cated. The soundsheet has two sides of playing material-although
printing is on one side.

To be a senior at Antonian is more than just a ring-you must go through
some of the toughest educational standards in Texas. We have seen the
changes in this school over the past four years, from the "country club" to the
college prep it is today. As Antonian begins the decade of the eighties, we
know that it has begun on a positive note. With this, we present the Class of
1980.

representing.
The club also participated in the T.P.S.A.R.
tournament at the University of Dallas. In the
first round, Antonian defeated Sacred Heart of
Dallas. Antonian did not fare as well against
the Cistercian of Dallas, who was the eventual
champion.

Golf: Runners-up In Dlstrlet Tourney
The Golf team had an excellent season,
although it was a limited one. The team first
played at the District tournament where
they played to the 2nd place trophy. They
then proceeded to State where they played
well, but not well enough to place. But, in
spite of their short season, the Golf team
was something to be proud of.

J.V. Cagers Clinch Consolatlon
The Junior Varsity team had an excellent
year, as is evident in their fine record. After
meeting some tough teams, they ended the
regular season with a record of 9-6 and pro-
ceeded to the District play-offs. There, they
won their first four games but were met with a
number of disheartening losses and had to set-
tle for runner-up in the Consolation champi-
onships.
They ended the season with a record of 15-
9. Next year's crop of Varsity players proved
that they have the potential to be a champion-
ship team.

B-Ballers Have
Good Season
The basketball team played well this year
with a season record of slightly under .500.
Besides this fine effort, they also had a
number of other accomplishments. The
team played to a second place showing in
the eight-team Canyon Tournament. The
Apaches' record in the Southside Tourna-
ment was good enough for a first place in
the Consolation round. The team ended the
year with a 2-7 record. With seven Seniors
going on to bigger things, there will be a big
hole to fill. But with five returning under-
classmen and many players coming up from
the Junior Varsity team, the future looks
bright.

The football team had a rather
disappointing season this year.
Antonian was hit with a tough
schedule and repeatedly came up
short on the scoreboard. They
were beset with many problems,
including the resignation of
their head coach shortly before
the district play-offs. Although
there were many close games,
the team finished the season with
a 0-10 record. But, with a new
crop of underclassmen coming
up to join the ranks of the Var-
sity, the future looks bright.

We at Antonian are a community which stands
proudly before our Cod. It is right that we should
do this as we are a school based on the principles
of Christ's teachings. There can be no better
environment for one to find himself and grow to
excellence, a tradition on which Antonian strives
for. To offer to our Lord in every way our lives is
our best achievement of that excellence, and a
gift of our true selves, a human gift, a gift great-
est of all.

Presidential
Forum
Politics '80: This year Antonian students got into the swing of
political jargon with a presidential forum to introduce to the stu-
dents of Antonian and visiting Ursuline Academy the candidates,
issues, and answers of the 1980 political scene. The forum was
conducted by the History Class under the direction of Brother
Anthony Ciccollela. The participants of the rally were Joe 0'Shea,
Tim Connolly, Matt Baker, Gilbert Schoonover, Albert Arias, and
jerry Cohn. The rally was put on for the benefit of the seniors in
attendance to bring about an awareness on who the next president
may well be.
Freedom i peeeh Forum
Brings National Attention
A Freedom of Speech Forum was held at Anto-
nian during the second semester. The forum was
moderated by David Cruz, of KMOL T.V. Panelists
includedg Nelson Wolff Jr., a former state legislator
and Democratic candidate for the 21st congres-
sional districtg Jan Jarboe, assistant editor for THE
SAN ANTONIO LIGHTQ Doug Harlan, Professor at
Trinity University and former Republican candidate
for the 21st congressional districtg and Brad Messer,
newscaster of KTSA-KTFM radio.
The Forum was put together by Denny Ezba. It
was a success and was recorded by cable television
for national coverage.

Spring time in San Antonio. The sights and sounds of Fiesta, Niosa, baby birdies and pretty girls. And the
hint that another year at Antonian is slowly winding down. And, of course, the Junior-Senior Prom. The 1930
Prom was held at Lackland Air Force Base, in the Officers Club. The Prom is traditionally sponsored by the
junior class, and again this year it turned out to be a smashing success. With music by Zapata, everyone
seemed to enjoy the evening's entertainment. Karen Miller, escorted by Fred Bueche, was crowned Prom
Queen of a quite beautiful Prom Court.
Above: Fred, Karen, and Brother Xavier chat before pic-
tures were taken.

Baccalaureate
UNITED AS ONE
". . . That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach the unreachable . . ."
-Don Quixote
"Man of La Mancha"
Baccalaureate, we come together once again
under God as we have so many times before. Only
this time there is more feeling, more pride, more
emotion. As a class, we have come to know our
Lord, through the good times as well as the rough.
The Senior Retreat brought our awareness of that
emotion to the fore-front in our lives. And now we
come to thank Him for our life and times, and a job
well done.

lt is a little known fact that children with kidney failure do not grow. Other symptoms are
pale, yellow-tinged skin, headaches, easy fatigue, weakness, itching, difficulty concen-
trating, fluid restriction, and special diets. One treatment that can make these disappear
is the "Gift of Lifew- a kidney transplant.
You can help in the fight against kidney disease by signing an organ donor card. For fur-
