Text from Pages 1 - 84 of the 1960 volume:

AHS From the fields where football's played, To the courts where cagers stayed, To the dear old high school halls We love so well, Sing the song of our true love, The one we hold above All the other high schools in our land. We are students of, the school we love, A. H. S. And we'll ever be true and be loyal to you, A. H. S. Wherever we roam on land or on foam, Keep in our hearts the memories of home, And God be with her while we are gone. A. H. S. THE ANTLERS ANTLERS HIGH SCHOOL ANTLERS, OKLAHOMA FOREWORD Within these pages we have tried to record the many memorable events that have happened to us during our jour- ney through high school. We hope that, not only at the present but in the years to come, this book will be a treasured keepsake and that it will recall many happy occasions. Editors - I 'Suv-.fE 2Nv-.J'--f , .. . ,f--an---V -W-M-w - --f'-- -' ll yr-' DEDICATION With affection and respect we dedicate the 1960 yearbook to Pearle Farr, our junior high principal, in gratitude for her many years of service in the Antlers schools. By her friendly interest and keen perspective of the students' problems, her guidance has pre- pared the students to assume their high school responsibilities. we 9 'M - '71- -nw in-...M SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE Bruce Barton in his book The Man Nobody Knows has stated that greatness in man comes from three underlying principles. First, for one to achieve greatness, one mustfbe willing to render service , second, if one would find himself at the top ne must be willing to lose himself at the bottom , and lastly, the big rewards come to those who travel the second, undemanded mile. I am sure the principles of greatness in service as expressed by Mr. Barton are a part of the make-up of the individuals of the staff of this yearbook The Antlers, or they would never have given so unstintingly of their time, their talents, their leisure, and their physical power in producing this record of our school days in 1959-60. This I know, that Mrs. Easton, the sponsor of these young staff members of the yearbook, is a living example of great service.
