fRightl The eager Guinea Pigs anticipate the coming fun. iBeIowl A blood drive technician questions volunteers. tBottoml Kim Willis' blood is tested for iron content. A Blood- Curdling Experience The Student Government joined together in April to create a Blood Bank which would serve the community of Antioch. Board members were in charge of the Blood Drive, asking for donations from students and faculty. Carol Whitaker, chairperson of the committee, procured the Alameda-Contra Costa Bloodmobile and over twenty technicians to handle the acutal blood-letting. From 8:30 until 2:30 on April 14, room 110, each volunteer gave a pint of blood. Many more wished to give blood but were unable due to the stringent qualifications imposed upon prospective blood donors. The actual cash value of blood is set at S50 a pint, but it is difficult to set a price on the lives it may save. 28
