Soft lights, cool breezes, and sweet music float dizzily in the air. Dancing couples sway rhythmically to the beat of a fox trot or waltz. The faces you see are alive with excitement, enchantment, and gaiety. Excited, pleasureful voices buzz around the punch table. Each couple entering across the bridge stars momentarily in a flood of light. Suddenly the lights go out--a spotlight catches the climax of the evening, the presentation of the Queen and Her court. A silhouette, a dance, a kiss, and the crowning of the King and Queen amidst a barrage of "souvenir" flash cameras. Nancy Rentner acted as the secretary. The band performed at many pep assemblies throughout the year, play- ing popular pieces in modern arrange- ments. They also played at the Teen-Town Dance in November, which was put on for the benefit of the Youth Center. The Boy's Glee Club, which met once a week, sang at assemblies. The president chosen was Don Cardiff, and Bob Terry acted as secretary. A five man jug and bottle band was formed, which proved very entertaining to both boys and students. I ROW 1: Mr, Chenette, N. S. grew this year with the addition of a newly formed Boys' Glee Club and many trios, quartets and sextets which have come from the A Cappella Choir and Girls' Glee Club. This year the music students presented four programs for the public with a fall band concert, a candlelight Christmas concert with the band and vocal groups performing togethler, a spring band program, and a spring vocal recital. On April Z5 the Antioch musicians were host to between 600 and 700 music students for the Annual Northwest Conference Music Contest and on March 12 and April Z approximately 4, 000 students gathered at A.
