BAUCUM 9' SMX S Congratulations to the Tiger Staff on the presentation of this, the mid-century edition of the Tiger. Since this is an illustrated history of the l9A9-50 school year, I hope you will not mind my mentioning a few other historical items. This date has, at least, two significant relation- ships to our school. One is that this is the first year under the new state plan of education known as the Gilmer- Aiken Laws. The other is that l9L9-SO is the last school session under the old eleven-grade system which accounts for the fact that Anson has the smallest enrollment in the senior class since the year l9l9. In spite of its small number the class of 1950 has made valuable contributions to the school during the last four years. We wish to commend them for maintaining the tra- ditions and spirit of A.H.S. and wish for them success and happiness in life. Sincerely, E.M. Connell N. H. TOUCHSTONE Grade School Principal E. T.
