Dedication
One hundred years ago, on February 11,
1858, to be exact, Our Lady's first appari-
tion at Lourdes took place. On this, the
occasion of her first appearance, Our Lady
spoke not a word, but made a big sign of
the Cross and began to finger the beads of
her rosary. Bernadette Soubirous, the child
to whom the Blessed Virgin appeared, fell
on her knees and began to do likewise.
When she had finished, the vision was gone.
On each of the succeeding visits also,
Bernadette unfailingly carried her rosary
with her and prayed it while waiting for Our
Lady to appear.
On this, the centenary of that miracu-
lous apparition, we ought, like Bernadette,
to follow Our Lady's example and pray the
rosary - say it daily and not only during
this year but in every year on every day of
our lives.
We, the Senior Class of 1958, hope that
by dedicating this annual to Our Lady of
Lourdes and to the increased saying of her
rosary, we may help, however slightly, in
bringing about world peace and a fuller
understanding of the brotherhood of men.

The Freshies, the babies of the school, drink
their bottles as a reminder of their status.
Following the day's playful frolicking comes

Here, Senior Alma Borja lights the candle

Senior Retreat
Each year the Seniors make a closed
retreat separate from the rest of the
school. The retreat this year took
place at the Convent of the Most
Holy Sacrament in Lafayette, Lou-

atmosphere gives the girls a chance
to think seriously about their future
as their high school days near an
end.

Q Q Q and won't it be your photograph that you and your grandchildren look for first?
That's a lot of looking ahead, but it illustrates the permanence.. .
the interest...of a fine photograph. Fine photographs of you are our concern
...a photograph you will proudly give as a personal
present...a photograph you will look back on happily years from now.
We hope that when you want a fine photograph taken again,
you entrust it to us-your official school photographer.
