Almost all of the time was spent planning new and exciting things for the newly-formed Middle School to do. Some of the new things we ' ve planned this year we ' re having separate Middle School assemblies and mini-courses. The Middle School still has activities with the Upper School such as language clubs and chapel, but the separation gives both groups the attention that is needed. This year has been a very good start for the Middle School, and the opinions of stu- dents are very optimistic. During the 1986-87 year 7th grade ha: become very different from previou years. This year our class has becorru part of the New and Improved Middlt School. Instead of being the younges part of Upper School, we are now tht middle of the Middle School. Each Mid die School class has some old and nev responsibilities. The 7th grade is still ir charge of Monte Carlo Night. On thi contrary to last year, the 7th grade mus now pass all civies days etc. through twc student councils, the Middle and Uppei Schools. These changes have helped th 7th grade help the rest of the schoo function as one body. 8th Grade Poll: Most likely to: Shoshana- to call unnecessary class meetings. Sandra- to be studying in the study hall. Erin- to have her mouth taped shut, and to tell a joke without a punchline. Sarah- to be caught in the act. Maren- to run into a rope-tow. Tammy- to have a different boyfriend every other week. Kelsey- to enjoy sports. Morgann- to be a model for Espirit. Silke- to be trying something new. Chantelle- to be playing football for J.H. Bette Anne- to be the only one dancing on the dance floor. Casey- to be skiing into a bush with the opposite sex. Heather- to be embarrassed. 8th Grade Favorite Sayings: El traino on El tracko . . . Sixth grade thinks Cispus is great and without it we wouldn ' t know too many people. Using the Kemper Center is really fun for us. The lip-sync was also fun; actually, five people in our class got 2nd place. Astoria was fun. We saw lots of sights and learned new things; so, as you see, sixth grade is a blast! ol. . Students and faculty alike will play an important part in the socialization of this young monkey, the first vital step in his training which will someday make him an invaluable aide-and friend-to a quadriplegic in need of his unique companionship. Undoubtedly Winston will leave AWS well-versed in all areas of World Histo- ry, economics and traditional May Day rites. Until then, though, he is an amusing and fascinating addition to the school.
