xew I ve been a very happy and successful class. I came into existence in 1937. when two little chubby cherubs. Delinda and Millie, entered the kindergarten, the first members of the mighty class of 50 . And how sweet Delinda looked when she was a flower girl in the May Day Court. Then curly-haired Mary Carol joined me in the second grade, and the three became known as the horsey set. Shy little Marion Porter came in the eighth class to stay. I really began to be noticed when my members threw stupendous candy sales and danced in T ie jester s Quest on xMay Day. My Freshman year was really something to write about. Some angel-faced, but extremely mischievous little girls by the names of Diane. Jo Ann. Barbara. Karen, and Mary Virginia joined my not too angelic members. I was proud of the great class I was, even though I was a little naughty at times. Top among my members ' many ingenious ideas, good and bad. was the one about selling team caps at the Christmas Carnival. Another feat to be proud of was the heavenly Soph-Frosh Hop with the unusual theme of The Old Lamp Lighter. Of course the Class Day was tremendously spent fjeacefully? cruising on the Sound. My Sophomore year I welcomed only two more permanent members, Jane and Dec, but from the way things turned out I guess two were enough. Diane, our president, was busy keeping peace and organizing committees for the Soph-Frosh Hop. Winder WondeAand. Another great triumph to add to my growing list of achievements was the winning of honorable mention for our Halloween skit. Senior Daze of ' 50. Min Porter was voted flag bearer for May Day. How proud I was of dear little Min standing there on the platform, her golden locks stringing in her face. Things became embarrassing at the end of the year when some of my little members threw their adviser. Miss McLain. into the lake. My Junior year got off to a mighty start with Millie as the president and Min. with a haircut, as house council chairman. I was delighted at the fine addition of permanent members: Jean Pattison. Eleanor Seaman. Karlene Ruddy. Flavia Gierin. Bea Cutler, and apple- cheeked Nancy Crane. My. I was proud when they walked away with the cup for the best Halloween play. ( Happened on Halloween Night. The Junior Journal was improved upon by the addition of a red letter heading. With Barbara in charge of the library committee and Bea in charge of the pound, the students were kept busy paying fines. Junior Sales, headed by Eleanor, was one of the main events of each week because of the delicious food and low prices. The water carnival, under the direction of Delinda. was one of my main achievements and was really one of the most successful ever had. My most successful achievement was the production of our class play. The Taming of the Shrew, with Delinda so ably portraying Kate, and J. B. gallantly enacting Petruchio. The Junior Prom was another big achievement to be proud of. My members looked pretty in their formals. Then the excitement began to mount when the girls took over Senior duties. Eleanor was elected Maid of Honor. Min was Key Girl, and Diane was awarded the Lambeth cup. My Junior year came to a bang-up end with the step-song singing, when Barbara became our lucky senior. Class day. the final event, was joyously spent on the Russells boat. My Senior year began with the addition of Marilyn McLallen to the eighteen mighty members. Except for my two day students, we all lived on the senior corridor. On Halloween we dressed, looked, and smelled like the song. I ' m a Lonely Little Petunia in an Onion f atch. Bea led the class as President, and Mary Carol found the spade in the bowling allev m e On Mondays and Fridays we were quite noticeable in our red sweaters. We really excelled in switchboard and ushering. Our Senior Booth with Flavia in charge of lulltd animals was very successful: and with Eleanor at the head, the Christmas Carnival made more money than ever before! We went caroling at Christmas around the school, even to the exclusive fourth floor. We sang at our last Christmas and Easter Carol Services. With Barbara. Delinda. and Catherine as Editors, our attractive Shield was produced. We ' ll never forget the Youth Center or the wonderful ski week end. With Barbara Lewis as our lovely Queen we ruled May Day. and ever ' one had Spring Fever. Then the tree planting, exams, and Senior week followed in quick succession. Amazingly soon we faced Commencement and graduation in our beloved Chapel. Good-bv. Annie.
