It held regular program meetings, and one of the most popular of these was Back-to-School Night. On this evening, the parents of each student followed a shortened version of their child's regular schedule. The organization not only insti- gated many projects of its own for school betterment, but it gave its full support to all the efforts of both the student body and the administration also. The SPTA was definitely one of Annandale's assets in 1958-59. The S.P.T.A. Executive Committee discusses school activities. Mr. Stephen P. Haycock President Executive Board: Mr. Haycock, Mrs. Wellman, Mrs. Rentch, Mrs. Cable. TDM BOO TERS As its name implies, the purpose of the Atom Boosters Club is to aid Annandale's teams, the Atoms, in all their enterprises. During the year 1958-59, the Boosters' main project con- cerned securing an adequate stadium with lights for the school. The Boosters attacked this undertaking from two angles. First, they brought the need for adequate stadiums in the County high schools to the attention of the School Board. 1 r Second, they had their own money-raising activities. The stu- dent body donated 390000 from its Magazine Drive profits, and the boosters themselves conducted a one-day door-to- door campaign in the community which netted approximately 553000.00 For this Club, 1958-59 was surely a noteworthy year. v txiivf i A it .t A - ' ' A tx x .NS .
