At very novel week of school was held during the days assngned to
Freshman initiation The glrls cenlffures consisted of tiny braids all
over their heads, while the boys revealed masculine legs from the knees
down by means of rolled up pants Then on Thursday of that week mild
er forms of entertaxnment were disbanded for a more excitxng costume
parade put on by the Freshmen They were dressed xn character outfits
assxgned to them by the Seniors After givxng free shoe shines to the
upperclassmen the Freshmen paraded to the gym where they put on an
hour show of antxcs appropriate to their varxous roles At one o clock
the entire school led by the band and the costumed Freshmen, particx
pated in the annual Sadie Hawldn s Day parade As a reward for their
good behavior the Freshmen were liven A skating party by the rest of
the hxgh school students
