194-0 Mrss Anna Laura Render was the lucky teacher to have such a studlous m
telllgent class of beglnners As usual SPRUCE was a month behlnd as she started
ln October and as usual she had trouble wlth the tfacher and had to stay in the flrst
day The end of thc year found us crayola artlsts
ln the second grade we put away the colors and began to cry espectally LEROY
BOBBY SIMS and O BANNON when they thought thelr mammas had ran off and
left them The smart httle second graders pubhshed a paper w1th O BANNON whom
all the glrls chased as the capable ed1tor We had flve new add1t1ons LOUIS WIL
LY JOY KYLE BOBBY OBANNON LARRY BEE NE and C L LOWRY Instead
of cray olas we were artxsts 1n eraser fxghts
ln the thlrd grade the beauty of the class INA LY NN along wlth the hxg boy
ARNOLD WAFER JOlI'lCd us ln tll1S grade also we had a post office where we
bought defense stamps The hustlmg thlrd graders won the scrap metal dnve and
had our plcture IH the Houston Post
Although there were no addltxons rn the fourth grade we were stlll the most out
drew from other students snlckers ln the fourth grade the boys and girls started fcud
mg and wouldn t play wlth each other so the boys played tops marbles and cops and
robbers whlle the glrls played house out under the trees
ln the flfth grade thc fllrt of the class NIKKI the fat boy CARLTON and the
skmny boy PAl L ROBERTS jolned us At last we reahzed our ambltlon to have
Mlss lvy as our teacher As usual we set the pattern by startmg Spamsh ln the 5th
grade Our class contmued the feuds even among the boys ln football we had to have

so we had flghts
