ASU Honorees Are Se ected Held off-campus and in conjunction with the Spring Fling, the Spring Formal climaxes a series of events during the pre- ceding week. The Spring Formal climaxes with the presentation of Mr. and Miss ASU, Frances Pietzsch and Bobby Menchaca. Miss Pietzsch is the senior Press Club nominee, while Menchaca is the senior nominee of the Baptist Student Union. Other Miss ASU finalists include juniors Diana Block, rep- resenting Pi Kappa Alphag Sandra D'Andrea, Alpha Epsilon's nominee, Jan Henderson, representing Delta Sigma Pig and senior Jerry Johnston, a nominee of the XGI Club. Mr. ASU candidates include seniors Alan Kelley, Press Club's nomineeg Billy Ratliff, representative of Lambda Tau Sorority, Bobby Sims, Women's Residence Hall Association nomineeg and Jack Srader. 'Standin Proud in 969' Is Theme For A-State Homecoming Activities l Pride '69 rings out with solid mean- ing as A-State's Student Association an- nounces the theme for this year's HOME- COMING set for Nov. 1. A full week of activities finaled by a victory game and announcement of Homecoming Queen Diana Block is kicked off as the ASUSA challenges the faculty to a flag football game with the students winning and some of the faculty members aching. Monday is designated Blue Day and also is the day of final election of queen. Coeds vying for the title are Marsha Behrens, Diana Block, ,lan Henderson, Empress McFarland, Sara Trigg, Nancy Fraser and Martha Jordan. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are among several features of the film festival on Tuesday. A mock cemetery, built by the Angelettes features graves of the Tarle- ton Texans who fall to a 40-14 defeat on Saturday. Students and ex-students alike take part in the annual function.
