Remember, school starts with :L rush. And we were VIISIICII. Registration Day we found our new
little sisters and took them over town, wondering who felt more bewildered. Initiation VVeek began
with the Aequaintanee Party, and the halls were filled with little green caps and big brown shopping
bags, and "Though we're farmers, as you know . . ." After the weiner roast, the farmers disap-
peared, leaving our little sisters full-fledged Andrews girls.

Christmas! VVe were drawn into
a whirlpool of activities. Spirits
were high as they always are at
that season. Carols sounded in the
hallsg trees began to appear in
classrooms and cottages. The
Christnms formal was uppermost
for :1 moment and then, with nearly
the whole school working on the
Christnms progrrun, we plunged in-

The faculty came to the houses for dinner parties. Yve went caroling,
packed baskets, gave the Clll'lStll1?lS production, ah-ed and oh-ed over gifts
in cottage exchanges, planned over and over our wardrobes.
Yve relived the stories of 6' 'Ev Youw and "Rebecca" - if we ever hear
those stories again it will he with a feeling of nostalgia.
The halls were a turmoil of girls and luggage as we hurried home for

nineteen long wonderful days of vacation. 1'l1e air was filled with cries of

Commencement probably should be remembered as a solemn time, a dignified time. But there is
something else, too. There is gaiety, confusion, and almost a fever pitch of excitement. Preparations
are made all through the week before: there is expectancy in the airg but still there is more packed
into that brief week end than can possibly be anticipated. Something happens to school Friday - it
just sort of dissolves. lVe went dashing home to get ready for the dance that night.
The house was in an uproar from the time the first graduate arrived fwhile the work was still
half donej until the last one wandered in after the Alumnae Banquet. Finally, we trotted back to
our junior rooms to spend the night.

Sunday, we had a leisurely breakfast, a festive dinner. Suddenly, we sobered. This was Com-
mencement. As we watched seventy girls receive their diplomas, we reacted in nearly as many ways.
We were inspired, yesg but also frightened, VVe were sorry to see our friends go, but still happy-
for them as graduates-and for ourselves-a year from now.

No one relaxed for long because Yule-Ha1'vzL1'd time was here. By Friday. February 26, every-
thing was either red or blue.
The gym was overflowing. Guests stimulated the enthusiasm of student spectators as well as the
teams. Cheerleaders kept everyone alert and on his toes, as vigorous cheerleaders should. And fdum
da dum dum, Tumblers tumbled to our favorite theme ef "Little Blue Riding Hood."
