We were stillas happy to see the old year end as we were to see it begin. To the seniors it was a time of happiness and sadness because they would leave and not return. Most of us looked forward to a lovely summer and a return in the fall. But there were compensations. The seniors took their trip. The teachers had to come to school one day longer than we. Someone said that the extra day was to keep them from knocking any of us down as they made a wild sprint for the door on the last bell. 7 Trailways to Learning School Board Faculty Seniors Iuniors Sophomores Freshmen Favorites Who's Who Iunior High Elementary Primary School Board MUS MI' C 5 Ham NI' Charles Carruth Mr J B McNe1l we-w..,.,,h in N, Mr A L Rhodes Presldent of School Board 1 Wifi' J Ov ,.....l Mr. Mr. J. That might be said of the graduating class of 1952. As these great seniors depart from the fond halls of A. I-LS. , they take tothe rest of the world the education and fine times they had at Andrews. When school started last September, the seniors chose Barry Brooks, Donald Nolan, Patsy Burden, Connie Pruitt, and J mhnny Benton to lead them for the year. Mr . Charles Compton and Mrs. Mary Lonon took over the headaches of being class sponsors. Around cami-r football season and with it every senior, senior pa rent, and sponsor in a stew. Be-cause everybody was in everything else it was very hard to field a working crew for every game. The senior parents organization was organized and came to the aid of the befuddled seniors. Football season lasted for a very short time because there were only three home games. In Basketball season everybody worked at one time or another, although three seniors got lost in the new concession stands in the gym. For the rest ofthe yearthe Seniors just got in everybody's hair and made life pleasant for everybody that they rubbed elbows with. 25 V .-8 'lili- Barrett. Rozaleah fRozaj Home Ec. A pretty September night opened the football season for the Andrews Mustangs when theytangled with the Dalhart Wolves at Dalhart. Olen Jobe scored on the first play of the game on a 45 yard dash. He scored later on a 15 yard thrust. Billy Spear caught a pass forthe last Mustang tally. Raby Hamilton kicked two extra points. But Billy Cessum and the rest of the Wolves were too much for the Ponies andthe Wolves tooka Z1-Z0 decision. Coach Neal Taylor Coach Taylor came to Andrews four years ago as assistant football coach, and this last year marked his first year as head coach. Coach Taylor entered and grad- uated from Hardin-Simmons University and Southwestern University after serving inthe armed forces, and came to Andrews after graduating from Southwestern Uni- versity.
